Hall of Famer
The only thing that I was upset with last night, besides the injuries, was that I was not very impressed with our run game. I was really interested to see what Justice Hill could do, but he did not impress at all.

Post game 2 53 man roster prediction

QB (2):
In: Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley
Just Missed:
Put: Anthony Brown

No surprises here. Brown has really improved since the couple of practices I saw early in camp. He should be fun to continue to develop on the PS, and we need a guy there anyways.

RB (5):
In: JK Dobbins, Mike Davis, Justice Hill, Tyler Badie, Pat Ricard (FB)
Just Missed: Nate McCrary
Out: Ben Mason, Gus Edwards (PUP)

I'm not completely enamored by Mike Davis but feels like he's going to make it. I think he's the most likely to be the primary ball carrier should Dobbins start slow. Hill sticks for now but is probably in danger when Gus is ready.

WR (5):
In: Rashod Bateman, James Proche, Devin Duvernay, Demarcus Robinson, Tylan Wallace
Just Missed: Jaylon Moore, Binjimen Victor, Makai Polk, Shemar Bridges
Out: Raleigh Webb, Slade Bolden, Bailey Gaither

I so badly wanted to put one of the young guys in but none of them have stepped up and taken that job. Robinson gets the edge now for when he officially signs. It's going to take a baller preseason game 3 for one of those just missed guys to make it. I have 0 doubts that all of them would clear waivers right now, too.

TE (3):
In: Mark Andrews, Nick Boyle, Isaiah Likely
Just Missed:
Out: Josh Oliver, Tony Poljan, Charlie Kolar (IR)

Like last time, Kolar is probably going to make the original 53 where one of the vets I have making it here doesn't, and then comes back quickly. Not too much competition here though. Oliver and Poljan have clearly become afterthoughts with Likely's emergence.

OL (10):
In: Ronnie Stanley, Ben Powers, Tyler Linderbaum, Kevin Zeitler, Morgan Moses, Ja'Wuan James, Tyre Phillips, Patrick Mekari, Ben Cleveland, Daniel Faalele
Just Missed: Trystan Colon
Out: David Sharpe, Jimmy Murray, Kahlil McKenzie, Jaryd Jones-Smith

I'm off of the Powers being moved idea. He's sticking on this roster even if it's not as a starter. Just too much uncertainty with a few guys and like always, he could just kind of fall into the job. Colon just misses. Will be hard to sneak any competent OL through to the PS but have to imagine that's the hope.

DL (6):
In: Calais Campbell, Michael Pierce, Justin Madubuike, Travais Jones, Broderick Washington, Isaiah Mack
Just Missed: Brent Urban, Aaron Crawford
Out: Rayshad Nichols

The first big shakeup here is Mack over Urban. I know Urban is a more stylistic fit behind Campbell but Mack has just been too impressive for me to leave off. Urban could be one of your vet PS additions that sits there for 2-3 weeks and comes back up when a roster spot opens.

ILB (4):
In: Patrick Queen, Josh Bynes, Malik Harrison, Kristian Welch
Just Missed: Josh Ross
Out: Zakoby McClain, Diego Fagot

Ross has put himself in the conversation. I still think he's on the outside looking in but it feels like he's inching closer and closer by the day. If it wasn't for an already drastic ST overhaul, I'd probably have him on. But I think they'll want some familiarity with Welch to start.

OLB (5):
In: Odafe Oweh, Justin Houston, Tyus Bowser, Steven Means, Daelin Hayes
Just Missed:
Out: Jeremiah Moon, Chuck Wiley

The depth at this position is so weak right now. Means continues to be active and healthy, so makes sense that he'd make it. Hayes has been really quiet so far but I still have him on simply because the numbers need bodies here right now.

CB (6):
In: Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters, Kyle Fuller, Brandon Stephens, Jalyn Armour-Davis, Pepe Williams
Just Missed: Kevon Seymour
Out: Ar'Darius Washington, David Vereen, Daryl Worley

Not much to write here other than Seymour is probably more in the battle than most people want. He's been a regular ST guy. Not sure he needs a 53 man spot to start though, but probably is a vet addition to the PS that ends up playing most games this year.

S (4):
In: Marcus Williams, Chuck Clark, Kyle Hamilton, Geno Stone
Just Missed: Tony Jefferson
Out:

I really wanted to put Tony on but just not sure the numbers aren't there for him. Looked pretty bad in preseason game 2 and like a few guys before, could chill on the PS for a bit if both sides are open to that.

ST (3):
In: Justin Tucker, Jordan Stout, Nick Moore
Just Missed:
Out:

Wolfpack 2.0 is solid

My only changes would be:
Take one of Hill or Davis off the roster
Swap back Urban for Mack
Ross for Welch
And keep TJ.

I can't go less than 4 RBs right now with Dobbins still getting up to speed. If he's not ready, that means Hill or Badie is your bellcow and I don't think either are going to be doing that.

I still really like Urban but he's 31 years old and has struggled to stay healthy in his career. Mack is 26 and probably the better player right now even if they aren't directly comparable.

I wouldn't complain is Ross gets the nod over Welch but already made my thoughts known there as to why I don't see it going that way as of now.

I think TJ still stays but not sure it has to be on the 53.

Looks like Huntley has been working hard in the offseason, pretty impressive performance last night even if it was a pre season game.
He has looked great in both games. Such an improvement over Trace McSorley.

Also 6 cuts to make tomorrow assuming the Robinson signing becomes official by then. My guesses...

Bailey Gaither
Jimmy Murray
Jaryd Jones-Smith
Rayshad Nichols
Diego Fagot
Daryl Worley

Do we have time tables for Proche, Wallace, and Linderbaum? Should hopefully be seeing Tyus and Stanley soon too.
Nothing concrete on Wallace. Proche and Linderbaum are approaching the timetables that Harbaugh set so they should be out there in the next week or so. Jeff Z reporting that post-AZ has been the target for Stanley and Bowser so hopefully some good news on that front as well.

The Andrews-Likely tandem will be much better than the Andrews-Hurst one.

Its back to the 2019 offense folks. We will need that running game to make it work.

A version of the 2019 offense with another real threat at TE would be insane.

I made the joke/observation before about Likely playing a big roll as a receiving TE next to Andrews would be like Gronk and Aaron.
