The Random Thought Thread

Similar to the NFL, at night to maximize viewership and ratings.
Well, two problems with that...
1. It's Friday night. Does the NFL play on Friday night? There's a reason why they don't. Because Friday night is a really, really, really bad night for TV and for ratings.
2. If you play a bunch of games at the same time, a) it limits which primetime networks you can show it on and b) people now have to choose which game they want to watch. Does the NFL frequently run concurring games in primetime?

Think about the NFL playoff weekend. Why are those games never in the same timeslot?

New playoff format for the WC added some games. Mets and Padres got the night game. Nobody cares about Tampa and Cleveland so it makes sense they were the noon game

same reason there was a basball game on TNF last night.
I can’t imagine many people tuned into that TNF game. There was no chance I was touching that. Highlights were brutal, even showed Broncos fans leaving BEFORE OT had started

Define "many"? It'll still get at least 10 million people my guess. And that is on the low end of what it might do. Easily be the most watched thing on TV that night. By a gigantic margin.

Heres my thing. With both the other guys having done pretty well at LT, am I the only one worried that putting Ronnie in is a mistake? Its been a hot minute since hes touched the field and this is a pretty important game.

My guess is he's not going out there until both he and the team feel he's ready. Don't see him going out there unless both are 100% in agreement after what happened last year. The team seems to be taking a very cautious approach with players returning.

This is my hope.

To be fair, yeah if the O's got the 6th seed they would have been in that game against Cleveland. It just seems random to me but seeing attendance, guess a lot of people played hookey lol.

Went to the watch party downtown. I was better off staying at work, Rays offense is atrocious.

You need to now root for the Manny Machados.
I think I’m pulling for Seattle if the Rays go down. Truthfully , i don’t care who wins as long as it’s not the Yankees, Astros(cheaters), or Dodgers.

I think atleast 10 million people should reevaluate how they spend their time

getting Gus Edwards back, whenever he is available, will be huge for our defense in the 4th quarter. Our running game has been terrible in the 4th quarter, thus we haven't been able to use the clock. Edwards has over 5 ypc and am looking forward to getting him back in a few weeks.
