Your angry reacc is just acknowledgement of the truth lolI literally wrote this exact post but then just erased it because I didn't want to be negative for no reason lol. But so true. We'll be the first to ruin another perfectly good prospect
PreciselyYour angry reacc is just acknowledgement of the truth lol
I know we have mentioned how inconsistent Stout has been, but he has has 15 kicks inside the 20 on 36 total attempts. That's 41.7%, which is good for 11th in the league right now. It's a really small sample size though.

For reference, Sam Koch in his career had 453 out of 1168 attempts, good for 38.8%.
So Stout is doing OK.
Did Geno get hurt as well?
Most importantly, he's done an excellent job so far in holding for Tucker's kicks. I expect his punting to improve over time as he gets more practice/reps, but it's been pretty solid so far despite a few mishaps
So what. I could hold a ball for Tucker
Hold deez nuts
Do you actually think this is an easy job. Part of Tuckers accuracy is getting the timing down, getting the ball and spinning it in the right direction. They want that done in 2 seconds and that's far from an easy job.So what. I could hold a ball for Tucker

I was worried when Morgan Cox was replaced. I wasn't sure what was going to happen with the timing between Moore and Koch, now you add in a new holder and a bunch of problems could have come from that. Thank god they didn't and Koch has helped Stout along with our kicking coach.
Look at all the issues around the league in kicking and you'll see it's much more than the kicker, it's the holder that causes a lot of the problems.
All I'm saying is don't make light of how important a holder is.
He hasn't been bad at all, he's had over 40% of his punts downed inside the 20 yard line. I would say he's been a bit inconsistent, but thats true of most young kickers. They use a different ball in College and have to adjust to the NFL game. Give him time.Yes, but if all you’re getting out of a Punter drafted in the 4th round is a solid holder and average punting then that’s a wasted pick

I'd like to know his true gross average that doesn't take into account touchbacks. I think this would be a useful tool for any punter, because when a punter punts from the opponents 40 yard line and gets a touchback he gets gets credited with a 40 yard punt, but when that same punt gets downed at the 10 yard line he gets credited with a 30 yard punt.
no question they should be above average at their job, but that doesn't mean they need to be above average from the get go. He is 11th in the league at having punts downed inside the 20. He's had 36 attempts and 15 downed inside the 20.I never said he was bad, I said he was an average punter. Punters drafted at all in the draft let alone in the 4th round should be better than average at their job.
