The Ugly, The Ugly and The Win I Guess???

Sorry for thinking a professional athlete should hold himself to higher standards than a likely drunk fan. You know, set an example for kids
So the kids on twitter matter more than the kids in a crowd seeing grown men gather drunkenly to curse out a man essentially leaving work... lol. You really took it to what about the kids

And who the hell made professional athletes our moral compass? Why are they held to a higher standards than cops, politicians, teachers, doctors etc?

And sorry but not much thinking is going into your replies. I'm really starting to believe the troll talks.

It’s sports. If he wanna boo the dude for performance, I mean.. that kind of goes with the gig lol. Iunno why people getting so worked up over it. But I’m known here as the anti Harbs/Gro guy. So my opinion might be a little biased
I mean I've never been a fan of paying money to boo people, mostly because the people you're booing don't give a fuck about your booing and get paid the same whether they get cheered or booed, so it's just a non-sensical way to spend discretionary money in my opinion, but those people can be stupid if they want to be.

I think its just an extra level of pathetic to spend free time that you didn't pay for doing it, but again, people can be stupid if they want to be. Like I said... the trolling effort of "please go make more money somewhere else" is next level comedy for me. It was my biggest takeaway by far. He doesn't even want the guy fired. He wants him promoted.

For this offseason:
1. I'm still not caving to the Watson-level contract demands (if that's what Lamar is asking for). If he won't move off it, franchise tag it is.
2. I think Roman is going to have to be gone one way or another. Hopefully he takes the Stanford job so that everybody "saves face", but pending some offensive surge here in the last month, we can't run it back with him. It just seems like the best we've seen from him on this team is in the past, not in the future.
3. They need to add a couple playmakers on offense. Don't really care if that's a playmaking RB with another WR, or two WRs. But it's becoming pretty clear to everybody that our personnel at WR and, this year, at RB, isn't good enough. I'll be the first to say RBs are a dime a dozen, but Edwards has no burst left it seems, Drake is just a total JAG in this league, and we can't expect anything remotely resembling "return to form" from Dobbins.
If Lamar won't budge at all then we need to trade him. A tag is a one year rental that leaves us completely empty handed when he ends up demanding a bigger contract. If a long term deal can't get done before the draft then the team needs to put itself in position to move on without a big collapse.

if we want to extend Roquan Smith, it will be downright impossible to franchise tag Lamar.
Why? They're totally unrelated.

You can extend Roquan and easily have a cap hit of like $10-12M or less next year. Roquan doesn't stop anything from happening for Lamar. It just pretty much prevent us from extending Peters and/or probably Powers. Not sure either was going to be back anyway.

Again. Professional athletes should be just that. “Professional”. Especially more so than a drunk fan. I guess you have no idea what professional means

Yes because being hired as a college coach at a non SEC school, non powerhouse is definitely a promotion over being OC for a team quarterbacked by Lamar in his prime

Drunk fans don't have kids? I know plenty that do.

Me personally, I've never been a fan of the whole "let somebody on the TV be your kids role model" thing. I'd rather see the parents stop paying cowards and actually be the role model themselves, but also understand that's probably too much to ask.

Regardless, it would completely shock you to find out how many drunk fans attend games and are screaming obscenities' in front of young children, including their own. Hence why a large contingent of people stopped taking their young kids to games a long time ago. I expect them to learn it all one day anyway, but I'd rather not spend my free time trying to explain to a 5 year old why calling somebody who just tore their ACL a "fucking pussy" isn't indicative of what a "role model" should be.

If it wasn't a promotion, he wouldn't be entertaining the job.
It's a promotion because it'll come with a sizeable pay increase, and it's a promotion because of the word "Head" included in his title.

downright impossible to me doesn't mean it's totally impossible, but harder. That being said, I should have been more clear.

Yes I agree the structure of RSs deal could get done even if he got his 20m avg salary. We would absolutely be freeing up cap space in other areas to make this work and there are plenty of players we would most likely be cutting and maybe some players that we don't want to cut, ie both Moses and Zeitler. I'd like to keep both but it could be more difficult if we tag Lamar.

You miss the point entirely. A professional needs to be professional.

I think you trade him after the first tag year if there's no hope of an extension.

Really trading him after the draft doesn't do you any good, because it takes you out of this draft class all together. If you're going to trade him, you probably want to get as quick of a head start on drafting his replacement as possible.

So you'd trade him in the offseason of 2024 in that case. Before that draft.

They're a pro because they're in the pro league. That has nothing to do with how a person should act because of your dumb ass perceived logic. So a by your very logic a professional comedian should.. ignore hecklers? Cause they're a professional right?

And now you're ignoing the whole point you claimed of people being softies when you're acting like the biggest one because of a tweet from an athlete.

I agree. Fans are professionals too. Unless of course we're assuming they're all unemployed, which I could kind of get behind in some cases.

Professional doesn't stop being true because you're off the clock, regardless of profession. Can still be fired for what you do outside of work. Again, true of all professions.

This guy, assuming he's employed, is a professional something, is he not? Was he acting professionally here?

Again, if you want to hold the strangers on the TV to a higher standard, go for it. It's highly unlikely that my kids role models will be people they don't know or have never met. I'll shift them away from it if so.

Is it black girl lost or shorty owe you for ice?

But it's funny how people switch up here with no kind of standards or reasoning behind it.

there's a hov lyric for everything.

Agreed. 100% of the offseason is more difficult if we tag Lamar. But I also think its inevitable.

Was gonna go this route but figured he might change his definition of professional up
