The Awful, The Run Defence and The Offence

He literally says start with the coaching staff. Heads should roll. Both sides.

And EDC better get his shit together too.

You can't go YEARS without drafting STAR players, consistently signing FAs at nonpremium positions to mega contracts, ignoring different position groups every year, and failing to sign the best player in Ravens history since Ray and Ed to a long term deal.
It's crazy but screw it, fire Roman tomorrow and give up the play calling to someone else for the Bengals and the playoffs.

As many of you know, I’m not really a blame the coaches type of guy, but we’ve reached a breaking point to some extent. Weirdly less worried about the D right now, but wouldn’t put it by Harbaugh to make sweeping changes on both sides of the ball. Feels like we need philosophical changes more than just name and face changes.
Agreed. Think we ought to bring guys in from outside for both sides of the ball imo. We're stale in so many senses.

I mean just try right?! But will never happen because Harbs probably believes that with Lamar things will be better. Sad thing is, they may be, but not enough to win.

Gotta let Ojabo try. This pass rush is awful. They only get a handful of pressures the whole game and when they do, they never finish.

Houston has had one good stretch this year and outside of that, they've been awful. In fact I think to get to our second best guy you have to go to Madabuike. Which is nuts.

We've got 2 geriatric guys on the edge, Bowser, and useless Oweh. I know Ojabo won't be great in the run game but use him in real 3rd and longs. Maybe he can actually bring the QB down.
Look at how well ZDS is doing in Minnesota, look at Judon in New England. We need a defensive coordinator who will let Houston, JPP, Ojabo, Oweh, and Bowser feast on QBs. This whole no pressure non sense is killing us in the passing game.

And it’s sad because I feel like we have some really good positional coaches (Joe D, Weaver, etc.) but the game planning and adjustment aspects on both sides have just been brutal

Absolutely agree. I'd definitely be making a change if I was Harbs. He's had an extremely talented group. And you can tell that he's brought up by those guys, but even they can't overcome how passive and flat and no adjusting he is

this is the kind of decision where we just dont know tbh
and i dont feel that strongly about either keeping or getting rid of him and making him 1 and done

whichever way Harbs goes id be ok with that - i think it's likely though that MM is here for at least 1 more year and he'll probably have to find a way to do more with less next year which is where his more passive philosophy and play-calling instinct may well pay more dividends (especially if we can finally create a dynamic multi-faceted offence)

but id defer to Harbs and not be mad either way

Roman on the other hand...

I hear you. I really don't want to see him work with less lolol

We got to try something, and yes I believe with Lamar things will be better and I still believe we can make a Super Bowl run when Lamar comes back with the way our defense is playing. Just man we need to try anything, the fact Harbaugh said it starts with the coaching, yeah it's too late now but we can give ourselves a better chance offensively firing Greg Roman tomorrow. The no Lamar thing is an excuse, when Huntley is built to essentially do the same thing, you can't call it an excuse.

some significant investment in freshening up a stale building
introducing some new ideas on both sides of the ball from outside the organisation beyond just position group coaches feels like it would be useful

just doesnt feel like we're maximising some of the stars we do have on the roster

i get that, and id like to see ojabo

just dont think this week was the week given the likely steelers gameplan on offence

It's SUPPOSED to be the same thing with Huntley, but he has a lasagna noodle for a right arm. He doesn't pass to open guys because he doesn't have the arm to get there.

I hate our coaches. They suck. But there's no bigger reason that we lost today then Huntley is awful.

They made the effort to get younger and fresh minds in at a lot of the positional openings before the years and even took that leap with MM at DC. Still think he should get another shot because I think that’s how we should be trending right now. But still wouldn’t shock me if this is a cleaned house almost of coaches. Gotta do something because what we’re doing isn’t working.

I think Harbs is fine HC and one we could win SBs with. But if you don't already have top tier coordinators, if you go too long without bringing in externals, it will definitely show and rear its ugly head. I think that's where we're out. Just stale everywhere. Wasting a very talented roster.

And teams don’t even respect the idea of a deep game against Huntley. They’re content to sit 10-15 yards back at most because he’s not pumping the ball deep with velocity. The Steelers should have had 3-4 picks tonight because the ball was just floating with any attempt at putting some distance on the ball. 20-25 yard opportunities were coming up 5 yards short when he was on the run. Arm talent just isn’t there
