it's so bad and really telling about how awful the start of his career has gone...

but it took me a hot second there to work out who the hell the Trey is that you were referencing here lol...

that poor guy's career
but also - cannot believe that with a 3rd overall pick, the 49ers passed on Fields, Mac Jones and all the game-changing non-QBs in that absurd 2021 draft class... just to end up heading to a 2nd consecutive NFC championship game without him as their QB... and in fact do it this time with a 3rd stringer

The last pick. That is insane. He has an idiot proof offense and even Lance looked ready to mess it up. Gotta give Purdy some credit though.

I mean, it's not like Justin Fields or Mac Jones have looked like these all world players. Mac Jones has very clear limitations and Justin Fields is exactly what people think Lamar is. It's rough that Trey Lance has been so absurdly bad, but I'm not sure that Fields or Jones were the answer, either.

And we have to remember, this is a team that is, on paper, up there with the Eagles as arguably the most stacked team in the NFL. They could afford to take a swing and a miss because that team wasn't devoid of talent. They really felt like they were missing one piece, and arguably, they were right.

i really think Fields in this Shanahan offence would have thrived
ill admit, ive been probably his biggest fan on these boards since the pre-draft process that year

Kyle Shanahan just has to learn not to trade up in the draft for QBs. He's now 0-2 (RG3 and Trey Lance), although he's 1-0 in Mr. Relevant QB's
