In 2018, when the Bucs had Jameis/Fitzpatrick, they were WR heavy. Humphries and Evans had over 100 targets, and Godwin had 95. Howard and Brate (the TEs) had about 50 each. Obviously a ridiculously pass-heavy approach, but much more emphasis on WRs.

The 2019 Browns, with Baker at QB, basically didn't use TEs at all. It was Odell and Landry dominant. In fact TEs in total got like 30 targets the whole year.

He was the OC. Kitchens hired him, and as far as I recall, Monken called plays.

Kitchens called the plays in Cleveland and is why he only lasted a year

Monken's not an inspiring hire but it doesn't immediately make me want to kill myself, so that's progress from Harbaugh.

If we've still got Lamar, all we'll need is a competent OC, and Monken seems to be at least that.

Correct, Kitchens called the plays in Cleveland.

I like Monken because he isn’t pigeon holed into a certain style, he has adapted his offense to his personnel and I see no reason why he wouldn’t do the same here.

Has positive history as passing game coordinator at Oklahoma State, LSU, then back to OC at Oklahoma State and ran a spread offense as HC at Southern Miss. As already discussed had a heavy pass offense in Tampa and then adjusted to his personnel at Georgia.

I anticipate we’ll have a similar run scheme but hopefully out of more spread look.

Is it possible to operate Roman's run scheme out of spread look?

If we're keeping Roman's run game, it might well be as something we can go to, by putting Pat and extra TEs on the field. The dream would be to able to spread out to pass or condense it to run with the same personnel but I'm not sure that's likely.

You can run a similar scheme out of a spread look. It won’t be exactly the same but Monken already has QB driven runs, gap runs, some pin and pull stuff. I think it’ll look similar tbh
