The 2023 Offseason Thread

and was the only one all year tbf and he reinjured an old injury on a poor landing on artificial turf on a field that players hate playing in for that reason

hopefully the low number of ACLs this year for the Ravens, not an aberration
Absolutely!! Hopefully we can begin breaking out of this terrible luck

now imagine what would have happened if Fuller hadn't torn his ACL

I’m down with bijan this year if he’s somehow available after a trade back. Hard to think he’ll be the best option at 22 but 28-36ish… I mean how many players are slam dunk bets to contribute as much as bijan would in that 4-5 year span, how much cap space and roster value we’d gain, how many drives he would extend, how many red zone appearances turn to TDs just because he’s a baller and makes a play that others can’t. The more I think about it the more I’m good with it. I wanna keep running the ball and use more screens, and I want studs at RB, I’ve seen in recent years that they make such a big difference, they’ve been underrated by football.
If we take a rb with the first I'm putting a hit on EDC and going to see you personally for enabling him.

Tbh i wouldve gotten 3 out of 5 right lol. Chubb avgs 5 dam near every year, and i believe aaron jones is always one of the best in ypc and i wouldnt be surprised if pollard was #1.. i wouldve said gus edwards also because i remember at one point he actually was the only rb to avg 5 yrds carry in his first 4 seasons( so that means arron jones mustve went atleast one season without 5ypc)….with that being said most those guys other than maybe chubb, dont get as many carries as guys like jacobs and henry. those guys arent doing 80% of nothing neither lol maybe like %60..you see what cmc got traded for? You think thats only a 20% difference in talent level between him and guys like pachio and walker?

Also, there probably isnt any correlation to one specific reasoning on what it takes to win football games anyway but im sure there is correlation to the ones thats most likely to be the top rushers in nfl and i wouldnt be surprised if there are only a few of them in hof outside of terrell davis and bo jackson( who was really drafted 1st ovr)
lol, no, actually I was being generous with 80%. Miles Sanders was a 2nd round pick who made $1.2M last year. He had 82% of the rushing yards of Derrick Henry, who made $14.5M last year. And Sanders was more efficient doing so and would have easily had more than Henry if he got the ball as much as Henry.

I think McCaffrey got as much as he did (which was a massive overpay by the 49ers by the way) because he's one of the best pass catching RBs of all time. Nobodies paying him to run the ball. He's also the prime example, because the Panthers won very little with him, and that's after paying him a lot too.

I don't really give a shit if they're in the HOF or not. Means nothing. Adrian Peterson is going to the HOF... what did the Vikings ever win making him a foundation of their offense? I'm not interested in HOF RBs. There's going to be about one every 10 years that makes it in the HOF going forward, if that.

You check the top individual rushing leaders by season for the last few years. Bet you won't find a lot of "winning" from those teams. Not to mention they won't even correlate to the best rushing TEAMS in the league, which is what the priority for fans should be.

Make the trade for chosen ASAP. We need a good crazy guy on our team

Idk what we are talking about now…. However, there is always and i mean always a big difference in talent level between rbs drafted in 1-2 and rbs drafted after that. Its not like wrs where those later rnd guys ends up becoming the best in the nfl.. that year henry had like 2k yards, im sure they had to be top 5 in team rushing.. also i dnt really care about the “ correlations” cause i dnt think a single we could find a single stat like that which would correlate to winning a SB cause thats what youre talking when you mention winning correct? SB?

I don't know what you're talking about. I know what I'm talking about. I'm talking about not paying market value to RBs when I can pretty much universally draft somebody to replace them that will, in most cases, get at least 80% of their production with similar volume... and for fractions of the price.

That's what I'm talking about. I think you just might be in love with fantasy football-style RBs or something. I have no clue what being a HOF RB has to do with anything, or why I'd even care if I had a HOF RB or not if I were an NFL team.

I would because a almost HOF RB did a lot to win us a SB in 2000.

Yea but thats not consistent lol and it never will be. Just cause he gets 80% of yards means nothing lol.same can be said for qbs and wrs but when you watch the games, you can clearly tell the difference..im sure fields could produce the same amount of rushing yards as lamar in our system with roman, but i promise you you that shit is not the same. and same can be said for guys like henry, saquan and chubb..havent played fantasy football in a while by the way and dnt plan on playing anytime soon. like most people, i watch alot of football and im pretty good at observing.. its a reason why rbs are still being drafted early despite all these years of people saying similar things to what youre mentioning..
