Lamar Jackson

Completely disagree.
Lamar has zero leverage. Every team in the league has had this info for 3 weeks, including what type of contract he's seeking. They could have done a trade before he even was tagged. Nothing happened.
And nothing happened because nobody is willing to meet Lamar's price today.

Ravens can do what they've been doing... sit back and let Lamar handle it all. He can find the team, he can negotiate the deal, and then the Ravens will handle the compensation and the agreement. They don't have to trade him. They can have him for $32M this year, or he can sit, do nothing, get paid nothing, and Steve is $32M richer.
32 million richer? Thats not even 1 percent of what he worth.. he prolly dnt even care about that petty money lol.. got dam these mfs rich af

When a player has wanted to be traded , the Ravens as far as I can remember have always granted that wish. IMO they do not want to play Lamar on a 1 year tag when they know he wants out.

I'll tell you what I find interesting... pretty much everything that has happened as led to one inevitable conclusion... Lamar is drastically overvaluing himself league-wide.

This request was March 2nd. That's at least a week before FA occurred. It's before anything of "note" happens in the offseason. And every single team in the league would 100% know this was out there.
And then the public went crazy with the "collusion" aspect of everybody publicly saying "they're out". Of course they're out. They knew three weeks ago what we know today. He wants out, and he wants heaps and heaps of $. And nobody wants to give it to him.
This is the big thing and why he has no leverage. He thought he was going to get to FA and have teams beating down the door to talk to him. By reports, it seems he's had absolutely no contact by anyone thus far. You can want that money and boo hoo that the Ravens aren't giving it to you... but if no one else is either...

He tanked him own value here and is trying to blame everyone but himself.

Now teams interested in Lamar will not give him an offer sheet and figure the Ravens are over a barrel and will trade him for as much as they can get which will now be less than two 1st rounders.
Lamar killed the Ravens negotiating leverage by tweeting he wanted to be traded. He has crippled our team with this tweet.
And he will also say imo hes not playing on the tag, further hurting our ability to get a decent return on a trade.

How do the Lamar homers feel now about him? Be honest.

you sleep af

Ravens have more leverage at the moment.

But they absolutely are not sinking their franchise by giving up a valuable asset for significantly less than he's worth. They want guys to want to be here but that doesn't mean they're taking less than they should to facilitate that. They aren't coming down on their price.

Will be very curious to see how this plays out. Originally it was said no team wanted to negotiate because they felt Baltimore would just match it anyways which implies that Baltimore will pay whatever the number is if it's presented. Except it won't be, because teams don't want to negotiate for

Weird spot to be in if you are Lamar. He really doesn't have leverage in the sense that he can't just pick up and leave if Baltimore doesn't give him something. It's on their terms
If i really wanted to keep lamar, i wouldve did exactly what ravens did if they truly felt like he wasnt worth what he wanted to give him an idea of what all other teams believe his current worth is

While I agree, there is always the cost of a lost season. Easy to say Steve saves 32M, but that season will likely be a waste. That should be factored into the leverage conversation

So what if Lamar says hes not playing on the tag ?

I wouldn't want to keep someone who doesn't want to be here but that's just me.
I can guarantee you he'd want to be here if the money was right.

That's why I don't buy this one. Not like Hollywood who wanted to be a more focal point of an offense, or Brown who wanted to play LT. Money can talk and get him to want to play here again real quick.

I disagree. When we trade Lamar for less than 2 1st rounders, how you gonna feel ? You still up Lamar's ass after this tweet?

You are not really familiar with how Baltimore and EDC conduct business aren't you?

This isn't the first time one of our best players have done something like this and we have yet to lose.
