Lamar Jackson

Not sure anyone has gone to Lamar directly but you can be damn sure they're talking to the Ravens. They aren't going to hold back the ask. They know that info just helps them more.

And if they haven't talked to either, well they're probably not that interested in the first place.
If Lamar hasn't personally himself called many NFL teams and told them what he wants, then he really, really, really fucking sucks at this whole "being his own agent" thing.

Sitting back and waiting for others to do the work for you is exactly why he's in the spot he is now.

Every team in the league knows what he wants and has for at least probably a month now. Its why we are where we are...

Good point. So what the hell happens if no one meets Lamar’s supposed contract demands? The man retires? Lol
That's the tough thing for him. He's got no leverage. His can sit out and take a further hit to his image, he can play like a madman on the tag and try again next year, or he can adjust his expectations and sign.

Hope you're right my friend. The common denominator is still Harbs..
Leash will be short without the man that saved his job no longer in a Ravens uniform (if it comes to that)

He can always sign a tag and pocket 32 mil.

Then he can retire after '23 season.

I fucking would because in all this mess, there is a one fact that's absolutely clear - owners are colluding.

Lol come on Black or maybe just maybe they don't feel he's worth what he's asking for. .. remember is not just a phat contract they are giving up its also draft capital.

Plays on a tag and get hurt, still gets criticized. If he wouldve played injured during bengals game, got hurt again, criticized for trying to help his team win.. if he wouldve signed the deal ravens offered, probably criticized on how its really a 3yr contract and if he had an agent, the agent wouldve informed him that contract isnt good for him.. even if he wouldve signed before allen and kyler, criticized for not waiting like he should have and now he is underpaid, which he wouldve known if he had an agent.. there is no way to please man and thats exactly why he has to do whats best for him financially

But if he’s not going to get what he wants then he’s doing the exact opposite of whats best for him financially. To be honest, he fucked that up 2 years ago.

Was a busy day at work (meetings and whatnot) so that's why I didn't get to chime in when the news first broke.

So, on one hand, it's donning on me that the Jags game was the last game he played AND finished in a Ravens uniform. On the other hand, I realize that this could be a ploy to get teams interested to make some sort of offer. Other from the Colts and Pats, there really hasn't been any team that has made an offer of any sorts. The fact that this request occurred on the 2nd and we're still in this position tells me that, yeah, Lamar overvalued his market and it made sense for the FO to give him the nonexclusive.

So my question to Lamar is how much exactly do you want and how far off are the Ravens from making an offer you'll accept? Plus, it's STILL unclear (well....to me) whether he wants a fully gtd. deal or not.

Then, I see a report from Rap that Lamar and the FO are STILL negotiating as we speak so does he truly want out? I really can't wait for this saga to end but who knows when it will.....

The thing is if he sits out they will just tag him again as they got the money from the first tag back. If he sits out a 2nd time they won’t even have to tag him again because no one would offer him 30m at that point so his career would be doomed.

Y'all see the interview where Bateman said he don't know what happy is here lol....don't want to take the thread off topic so I'll just say yall think the culture has just gotten bad that's part of the reason Lamar wants out?
He did call our EDC the same day Lamar demanded a trade …

Yeah my line of thinking was that if he really things another year or two will get him the deal he wants, that’s almost dependent on him going out there and playing consistently like a superstar

So do teams still need to cough up 2 first rounders or can any offer be made now by other teams?
They can make any offer they want, just like they could have three weeks ago.
If they submit an offer sheet, Ravens can match, or get two first rounders.
Or team can submit trade proposal to Ravens and Lamar, everybody accepts, and Lamar signs tag and then is traded.

Nothing different from today to 3 weeks ago. Only that what the league knew 3 weeks ago, the public knows today.

Ehh, not really.
If you get paid a lot, you play well, and your team wins a lot, nobody really gives a shit about anything else. Winning and playing well pretty much ends all criticism.

Josh Allen's contract looks like a total steal today... I don't see too many people criticizing him for signing it two years ago. That's because since he's signed it, Buffalo has done a lot of winning, and he's played well.

You will 100% get criticized if you miss the last month of the last two seasons, and clearly are holding out for a massive deal that, is clear, isn't coming. Yes, you will 100% get criticized for that.
