Usa olympic team doesnt even need nfl players to play. I actually hope it doesnt be full of nfl players.. some of the flag players are better than what nfl players would be at flag. i hope flag does come, that shit is exciting watching people get mossed..probably gonna be 1000s of flags thrown throughcan you imagine Lamar, Zay and Mitchell in flag football???
When the defense gets 3 turnovers the offense should do something with that to extend the lead. Our offense was unable to do so each possession after the turnovers. Most use the word, "staled" or "stalling" for that type of offense. In the context of last night's game that's not a good offense to me and even Lamar said that they have to do better as well as being grateful for the defense for playing lights out defense. Our offense is actually pretty good.. at times i feel like lamar is def holding it back, mainly cause of bad habits
Agree with the premise, though if you look at the actual outcomes, you'll see why:When the defense gets 3 turnovers the offense should do something with that to extend the lead. I am sure they are mechanically better but realistically the gap physically will be too much to overcome. NFL players are on a level physically that they would not be able to compete with and it would not just be NFL players but the absolute best of the best.Usa olympic team doesnt even need nfl players to play. From Harbaugh's presser today...
Ojabo done for the year with partially torn ACL...
Idk how the rules will be set up but down here, its basically all skill players. Guys like donald and olinmen arent out there.I am sure they are mechanically better but realistically the gap physically will be too much to overcome. Oweh is at least showing something this year. He has improved throughout the season.Ojabo two years in a row now.
During the game it’s frustrating as shit, but after the win and looking back objectively, most of those turnovers did not come at opportune times for us to scoreWhen the defense gets 3 turnovers the offense should do something with that to extend the lead. Very nicely done analysis and explains a lot.Agree with the premise, though if you look at the actual outcomes, you'll see why:
1st turnover: we took over at LAC 34, kicked a FG. So we got 3 points off turnover
2nd turnover: we took over at LAC 47 with 26 seconds left in the half. Not a reasonable amount of time to mount a TD drive. Three points would have been good outcome, but we took a sack and got nothing.
3rd turnover: we took over at our own 23 yard line. Meaning we still needed to get like 40+ yards to get in FG range. Starting at your own 23 is basically the equivalent of where you would start on a punt or kickoff. You should view this turnover as a "win" in stopping the Chargers from getting any points more-so than how we responded to it.
So on three turnovers, you basically got two where you had favorable field position, and you got a FG off one of them. A FG would have been realistic on the other one, but a TD really isn't.
I think the whole "we needed to capitalize off turnovers" thing was a bit overblown in this particular game. One turnover literally ended the half, a second was very near the end of the half, and the third was fairly deep in our own territory.
Harbs would be fired had it not been for Lamar saving his ass in 2018 and on… he is a rah rah antiquated coach@BoredMarine13's avatar is my ongoing visual of Harbs thru out the games. Always looking shocked and surprised is not a good look for a HC. For a smart guy, he has some dumb explanations of things. I know he's not on the hotseat, but there are still things about the way this team misfires and doesn't seem to on the same page which I continue to feel is HC leadership. But, it's been going on for years and it will continue to be the chicken or the egg argument whether it's the players or coaches who bear on-going "blame." But how ever one looks at it, we don't see "tight" performances, on both sides of the ball, where the win is never really in question.
Nevertheless, this was a big win. And we did win, as the coaching apologists pointed out ad-nauseam last season before Lamar's injury. We needed it going into the bye. I think it cleaned up the Cleveland loss a little, but that one still pisses me off, as this win with that one would have virtually sealed the Division. Sadly, the Steelers, who continually play worse than us, continue to stumble into wins. They're like a boulder bounding down a hill. We need to have them beat before the last game or we might get steamrolled by a rogue rolling stone.
