Bro I didn’t even know you were a local lmao
Not anymore, born and raised there until 14 when my parents moved to Annapolis. Then all over the place post college when I joined the Marines

I’ll bite on the Ray Rice talk. I’m a local who’s generally plugged in with some of the community efforts. Rice had always been an advocate for a lot of things before the incident and has continued that all post the incident as well. Think he majorly fucked up but the evidence points to him being a generally good person in the grand scheme of things. Understand some of the question with him being placed on a bit of pedestal tomorrow, but also know a majority of the people complaining have fucked up in their own ways. They’re just fortunate that they aren’t celebrities and painted as a villain as well. Think it’s generally a good sign when Rice isn’t out there doing all of his good deeds as atonement. He’d always done it and continues to behind the scenes.

I really didn’t know this was going on but now it’s just caused a huge flood of negative pr. Even that Twitter douche Brian Krassenstien is talking about it. Hope it just dies out, don’t really need a stupid distraction, hopefully it’s just the outrage media and not actual football media that cares

I have to listen to excuse after excuse for Joe Mixon, hell barely anyone even knows about Tyreek Hill. Sucks our guy became the poster child and has general remorse and actually paid for it
That’s always pissed me off. No one ever knows about tyreek and mixon has a video too. No one cares

Also those guys are both repeat criminals where rice never had anything before or after

Do this in a losing season, i hope the fanbases over here don’t notice, don’t feel like dealing with this shit. I’ll just bring up Tyreek Hill

Absolutely, they’ll just say Rays was worse. He never played another down for us, the bengals knowingly drafted him when he slipped because others didn’t, and Hill and Hunt and that older panthers DE just keep on playing with hardly any criticism. Hell Brandon Marshall got sympathy somehow

Team doesn't care......therefore I dont care. Ravens vs Everyone. Lets go.
And the Brian Krassensteins of the world do care, so we shouldn’t care. If you’re outraged about this but don’t care that Tyreek Hill is playing then idk what to tell you

I generally agree, and don’t think it’s that big of a deal either way. But it’s also fair to point out my fuck up was getting caught smoking shitty weed in high school or getting a reckless for going 21Mph over …… can’t say I’ve ever come close to knocking out a woman or picking on someone I knew couldn’t defend themselves on equal footing.

I doubt it amounts to much at all. Just the same folks angry on X who will quickly move on the next thing

ive got absolutely no problem with him coming back to be a part of the organisation and come and do talks and im not generally asking for him to be removed from discussions of the past of the franchise or anything like that

just feels weird to be honouring someone tomorrow who's so visibly fucked up the way he did in a way that literally changed the direction and MO of the franchise - there are things the team does now in the draft (and even in free agency) that hark back to that incident with ray

i think there's a way of acknowledging that a guy has changed and improved and ultimately put something behind him without, as you say, putting him on a pedestal

there has to be a way for people to get better and be allowed to get better, feels weird to reward them for it though...

He is being rewarded for his past contribution as a player, nothing else.

Had he have a history of such behaviour, tomorrow recognition would never happened but he isn't being rewarded because he is "rehabilitated".

To be fair, wasn't referring specifically to anyone here. Know people in my personal life that hate Rice's guts yet have multiple DUIs and assaults and shit like that, and get pissed if they're referred to as an alcoholic.

Yeah and I totally get it. Also admittedly think the "legend of the game" thing is totally overblown anyways. It's literally just him coming out of a tunnel and pumping the crowd up.

Honestly I don’t think anything really of the legend of the game thing, I just think it’s weird to honor him even at this point, thought everyone had moved on.

I just thought it was funny that everyone I know personally who’s a ravens fan, which is most people I know, were EXACTLY like stavros in that bit about ray, but everyone outside of Baltimore seemed to be the exact opposite.
