Zay has been the difference. It’s amazing how often Lamar finds him wide open by NFL standards. Lamar trust him, Zay knows how to get open , then connection is legit.
And Bateman feels so close. They’re consistently like a foot or two away from some big connections.

The improvement has been gradual but evident for about 6 weeks
unfortunately this is the offseason we have to decide whether to accept or decline his 5th year option. Same with Oweh, who has been coming on this season. Look legit actually.

Have to try and get both done this year at a reasonable rate. I could see Eric waiting and if they win the bowl approach them then while they're still on the high lol. Team has some pretty big FA decisions coming up.
It's crazy to think this was the difficult part of the schedule and the team just seems to improve. If I told fans after the Steelers game we'd mop the Niners and Fins yall would have said I the purplelest shades on.

Just because someone is active does not mean they have to play. Stanley could be active next week and not play a single snap. Every single veteran or mildly injured player will probably not see a single snap next week and there are enough starters in years 1-3 and backups to make that happen.

This would be a good draft to hammer away at the OL with multiple early picks, I hope the board allows for it.

And I’m noticing it’s not Lamar on these, bateman is money when he’s facing Lamar, but he is struggling to track balls over the shoulder literally every time, he’s always one step short and it’s always after a stumble or two as he’s looking over his shoulder.
When he hits zay or Odell or agholor deep, even if they don’t come down with it, they’re still able to track it and be in the area, Bateman is stumbling and coming up short literally every time.

I’ve been tough on Bateman including this week, he had a really nice game but that deep shot was on him, and I’m only bringing it up to point out that, while we haven’t seen the best from Bateman, the players think very highly of him, Odell and Lamar in particular both have the utmost respect and support for Bateman both as a person and a player, and I think it speaks volumes that after a lot of mishaps from Bateman and being the odd man out this season, he is still in Lamar’s good graces without question. He must be doing great work day in and day out that we don’t see on gameday.
