So those of you who know me well know that I am going to be studying abroad in Seville Spain from January 10th-May 25th.
So. I have questions. I obviously want to spend a decent amount of time in Seville.
So here is a list of places I am going to visit OUTSIDE OF SPAIN(A good friend of mine is going to be in Barcelona, so I will be visiting her from time to time. Also have friends in Granada, Madrid, etc).
So here's a list of places I want to visit. Money isn't an object(I've been saving for a long while) but I obviously don't want to be spending a ton of money everywhere I go.
1. London, England. Will be going here regardless. Gordon Ramsay's restaurant is somewhere I'll be going on my 20th birthday. London eye is also on my list. Guiness and fish and chips.
2. Paris, France. Also on my must visit. Have a little something planned for a friend of mine. Is Disneyland Paris worth a visit?
3. Dublin, Ireland: On St. Patrick's Day. Needless to say that I am not going to remember this place.
4. Rome, Italy: When in Rome? Any places?
5. Alamafi Coast, Italy
6. Prague, Czech Republic. I don't want to go here but a friend of mine does. Sacrafices must be made.
7. Bordeaux, France- WINE COUNTRY
Any other places? I feel like this is a solid list of places I want to go to. Only guarentee for me is England.
My experiences are quite old. I lived in Europe for 5 years between 89 - 94. Things change -but here's my bucket list.
As for places "in your neighborhood" ... you need to
go to Toledo. IMO it is absolutely stunning and not too far a trip from Seville and you can hit it if you are on your way to visit your friend in Madrid.
Outside of your country ...
1) Prague - Honestly, I liked it best when it was still untouched by western capitalism, but it is still a beautiful city. Do not make it sound like a chore or a sacrifice for a friend. The place is amazing.
2) Rome - A place you must see before you leave this earth. You're young ... the city is big, but you can walk it. You'll see little things that aren't advertised that you'll otherwise gloss over if you are going from one major point of interest to the other. Obviously, Coliseum/Forum, Spanish Steps, Campidoglio and St. Peter's/Vatican are musts. Be sure to get meals off the tourist tract. Eating in Italy is one of the great pleasures of travel there.
3) Cinqueterra, Italy - On your way to/from Rome, stop here just for a day. Seaside villages are unreal. This was relatively unknown when I was there, but I'm afraid the word got out and now they're crushed with tourism, but probably still worth a look
4) Paris - see 1st sentence above ... too many things to mention, so I can't even imagine why you'd even mention Euro Disney. If you are going to take an excursion out of the city center, go to Versailles instead.
5) Sorrento, Italy - You mentioned Alamfi - you can visit it as a part of the whole area of Sorrento. Go to Capri and, of course, Pompeii.
7) West Coast, Ireland - Be in Dublin as an arrival and drink there for St. Pats. Then go west young man. Cliffs of Moher (County Clare), Gallway, Aran Islands. Of course, this is all about nature and scenery. Not about city life at all.
8) Heidelberg Germany - Biased, cause that was my home town for some years while living in Europe. The old town is beautiful. Don't need much time there, but it is a haul from Seville so I don't know if you want to take that trip. If you end up there, also hit Rothenburg.
Whatever you do - enjoy! It is an opportunity you must seize.
