2018 Free Agency

The Cowboys did not offer Dez Bryant a paycut. They simply released him. And no post-June 1 designation. … It is simply a clean start for Dallas and the organization.

plot twist - so the cowboys did dez dirty a bit here - if they were always gonna release him then why wait til now and stop him from having a chance to hit the main part of free agency - its not like they drafted someone and now he's surplus and its not like they asked him to take a paycut (tbf probably because why the hell would he...?)

You're right that 1 shouldn't prohibit the other, but this history of this team says otherwise. I doubt we'll be reaching regardless. To me, it's just another band aid (although a stronger, stickier one).

i dont know - the commitment to this wr retool has been pretty overtly impressive even if we didnt get the guys people wanted/expected us to get

and throughout the process the organisation has said they will look at all means and that we are by no means done every single time they've been asked

i really dont see why the ravens wouldnt commit to finding receivers everywhere they can

Dak is certainly overrated, but it's on Dez, too. That foot injury back in 2015 really messed him up and he hasn't been the same since. Lots of lower leg injuries and it looks like they're starting to catch up to him. Still think he has a couple of good years left in him, but definitely not what he once was.
Sounds like our kinda guy then

Weird, I was just sitting here at lunch 2 minutes ago saying I think he's going with a NFC east team.

It's dez fucking Bryant what do you expect?

im just not sure a team in the east makes much sense...
giants are/should be rebuilding (and if they arent then dez probably shouldnt want to go there anyway), eagles are stacked so i guess he could go to the redskins but that's a pretty rogue move if he does go there

At worst, Dez could be another Boldin type of WR for us who will catch a contested ball most of the time. At best, Dez could get rejuvenated by the change of scenery and end up becoming a monster once again (even if he has lost a step or two). I'm excited to see what happens...

And if we don't end up going after Dez, or if his asking price is too high, then hopefully we get Snead. I'm wondering if they held off on making an offer to Snead because they had a feeling that Dez was going to get released. Just a thought.

well they havent got much longer to make an offer to snead now - i think they have to make the offer by the end of the day after tomorrow

I wouldn’t mind signing Dez, one reason being because Smokey is probably hurt all season and we need more depth. Even if we draft one or two.

What is the likelyhood that he even comes in for a visit?

Dez here would be interesting, I heard that he was hiring somebody to help with route running etc etc. A motivated Dez would be amazing. He has not been the same since that injury though

I expect there to be heavy interest, but not sure how I feel about it in all honesty. Dez is still good, but it really looks like he's lost a step these past couple of years and I'd be fearful of what's to come.
he may actually just be missing Romo. That being said, I'd be cool with either Snead or Bryant. Snead could fill the slot role really well and he has terrific hands. He's also only 25 years old. Bryant may have lost a step, but still has game.

He'd be a good fit imo and if he wants to be an unquestioned #1 WR on a team, this is probably his best chance. But he wants to play against Dallas more than anything it seems and I wouldn't put very high odds on a Dallas-Baltimore Super Bowl and I wouldn't expect that he would either.

we play them in two years

Bryant wants to stay in the division but how likely is that. Is he so upset he will sign for the vet minimum in Philly? Idk if the Giants even consider him..OBJ and Dez on the same team...oh boy. Redskins seems like the likely landing spot.

40% of Dez’s targets were uncatchable last year..for anyone who wants to argue he’s not good anymore.
