I'm not exactly tearing the house down here in FA, but I do like Frank Gore for the minimum. He looked rejuvenated in MIA last season, and he also gave it to New England, amassing 173 scrimmage yards against them on a 5.8 YPC. He should be a decent short-term insurance policy for Sony Michel should he again suffer through injuries. And Michael Burton is arguably one of the better FBs at the moment, as limited as the position has been.

Just did a quick run through of the SoFs and I can't even imagine what the prices are going to look like this weekend with how much some of these teams have left. Some big names tonight obviously, but still a ton of cap space left out there.
This is why I traded for Chandler Jones..... 16.5 to pay for a double digit sack master is probably going to be pennies on the dollar compared to what certain guys might make

I think what also flies under the radar is that @purplepittabread88 also got Mark Ingram.

Like Wtf. Are you going to simulateneously flex Bell and David Johnson out to WR?
Put Cam Newton or Lamar Jackson in at QB and run the triple option lol

I mean that is what ZS's contract is worth per year lol

This has certainly been a weird year. Typically, I try to play this game to somewhat realistic standards. By that, I mean I'm not trying to sign 500 FAs and completely revamp a team. However, I've won so many of my original 0.5 bids this year that I never expected, that I'm going against the grain and cutting a bunch of the reserve/future type guys that typically never amount to anything. I still have a couple of problem areas, but my team is super deep in a number of other areas.

yeah i did something similar last year - just kept winning low-end bids for players who could genuinely compete for starting spots

Yeah I say screw realism if this is the case lol. I'm winning guys that are going for $5-7M per year in real life for 0.5 here. Once this last FA period is over Sunday, I'll probably put together a comparison just out of curiosity.

some deals I've had have been massive overpays star wise(Clayton Geathers 6 stars), and then some I am getting for a massive discount. Honey Badger for 7 stars, Reshad Jones for 2 stars when his real life cap hit would be 17, Adam Humphries for 5(which he makes this year, but goes up significantly the next couple), Margus Hunt for one star less than he went in real life. Evan Bohem went for 1 star...... He was a top 10 graded center on pff last year(PM me if you want him).

It's funny. I've just decided to take the depth approach with this. I already had some good pass rushers on the roster, I just added people to keep the defense fresh, and added WRs on the cheap that are better than what Luck usually has(outside of TY).

Except with the Geathers and Vaccarro contracts...... Why?

The weirdness, compared to previous years, started right of the bat - with team selections.

an example of a 5 year contract by truth. 10 year 2.5 star (total) deal with 0.5 star signing bonus spread over the life of the contract. The deal also includes 5 voidable years to be able to spread the signing bonus out longer. EDC sign him up

Worth mentioning - half of salary in first 5 years is incentive based.

hahahahahahahaha

not only that but the team that takes on the Patriots after 5 years will end up with some dead cap. Alhough it won't be that much due to the size of the contract in the first place.
