Everyone looked disconnected on the sidelines. At least that was my impression.I was in section 119. Lamar was very frustrated and I saw him yell/give himself a time out
Well we already had a big off day against the Bengals at home. That was ugly.
But everyone has off days.
Short week after an OT game.
We're better than that, just not as good as we've become used to over the past 3 years.
On to the next week.
I was screaming the exact same thing. If we see anything close to this again I swear to god Roman needs to be right out the door with no hesitation. This is elementary shit to beat in the nfl, RUN A FUCKING QUICK SLANT! Seriously it’s that simple. Run. A fucking. Slant. And again. And again. And fucking again until they start dropping blitzers. Then run a slant elsewhere. Rinse and repeat for fucks sake. Greg Roman can be so brilliant with his blocking schemes but he is still such a fucking amateur in his passing concepts. If he sees this same approach at any point this season and he doesn’t shred tf out of it, or at least show an understanding of how to beat it, he’s gotta go, straight up.
this was the single worst coordinated game I’ve seen for the ravens.
I need to see the All 22 of this game... I'm too angry to go to sleep and watching back what Kurt Warner and Steve Smith Sr. said, and I just can't help but think the way Warner broke it down is the same thing happening again. Route wise we just aren't helping Lamar at all, there is no creativity, this explains why are receivers can't get separation. Either Roman goes or Harbaugh goes if he continues to be too stubborn and not fire Roman.
For those who don't remember here's the links to what Warner and Smith said...
Steve Smith:
Kurt Warner:
Why does John pick such shitty OCs? Is it because of his big ego? Gotta remain alpha or what.
I don’t get this reactionary talk about roman - it’s one game where we couldn’t solve a problem...
after 8 games where the design and play calling has been great...

People are freaking out because it's not just one game. I think it's overboard to say he needs to go, especially mid season and especially in a season like this. That seems crazy. HOWEVER, it is well documented and obvious what his shortcomings are. Those shortcomings are also in what are typically thought of as very basic areas like throwing a slant on an 8 man blitz. He seems to not know that. We always have guys running right into defenders and stopping. People take way too much for granted that a crazy amount of our yards are from broken and circus catch plays by Mandrews and Hollywood, our two guys that improvise the most. We so infrequently drop back in a clean pocket and have a beautiful passing concept have a guy running wide open. Way more frequently Lamar has used his athleticism to buy 4.5 seconds and Andrews has the elite ability to find an ad libed soft spot.
We don’t even need the rpo, just play action double backside slants. What I don’t get is why the fuck were they running sticks coverage and our receivers were schemed to run to the sticks and stop…yeah i dont get it - you've got bateman, watkins and duvernay who are all great on slants - and bateman and duvernay were both dangerous after the catch on slants in college... i think both had multiple huge plays off that route
you could even run double backside slants of RPOs... give lamar 2 options on the backside based on where the single high safety commits
i think the one slant we ran was the first 3rd down conversion we had all day on the catch to bateman...
the stuff that beat the ravens today was all high school football level stuff - it was basic man vs zone coverage busts on defence and it was basic cover-1 and cover-0 blitzing that screwed us on offence
