The Bad, The Ugly, and the Pathetic

I seriously just can't see how we can fix this shitshow of a D with players we have. We played our easiest opponents on schedule in first two rounds and won, Chiefs one was close because their D sucks, then got killed today. I can see us beating Bengals once and that's pretty much it.

At least we're fixed to pick high in 2020.

nah we'll go 7-9 and be around 13 and trade to the end the round in order to aquire more 3rd round picks to find the next arthur jones, chris wormley and tandon doss

there is NO chance we're making the playoffs

none...this team cannot cover.
There is a pretty significant chance we make the playoffs. This division is still very much winnable just like last year and even easier given the Steelers and Bengals are injured and playing slot worse. The Browns were 1-2 coming into this game and Baker is still clearly developing.

Despite our terrible defensive performance we managed to hold OBJ to 2 catches for 20 so clearly we CAN cover, and will cover better with a guy like Jalen Ramsey or healthy Jimmy alongside Humphrey.

Lamar is an electric, exciting QB who indeed makes amazing plays and extends drives.

But at what point does it become a liability when he truly can not move the ball down field through the air. I think everyone would be down for him to lead us to the super bowl just running over teams, but just as last year's playoff implosion, Lamar is getting demolished by blitzes and looks a lot like Flacco having no time to throw and and no open receivers resulting in embarrassing stat lines and obviously losing now because of his inability to pick up blitzes and make quick precise throws.

Defense lost the game bar none, players dropped a few easy catches, and the turnovers hurt too but all in all Lamar has to get on the same page with these receivers.

Take away the meaningless 50 yarder in garbage time- Jackson went for 197 yards and 2td/2int and a fumbled hand off which luckily did not result in a turnover. That's just not good enough in a home game against a team like the Browns. Love Lamar's personality/attitude and his electrifying play making drive extending ability, but he clearly has not improved enough yet upon the ugly loss against SD last year. Jackson has the upside but has been severely overrated this year so far as a passing QB as much as it pains me to say that. He has a number of ugly throws and missed plays and to show for it.
To be fair though, literally none of our WRs outside of Hollywood are reliable deep threats that can create separation. Boykin has been disappointing and so has Moore (why is he even on the damn team?) Snead is an underneath guy. Lamar needs more downfield threats

If there isn’t a MASSIVE trade in the works right now then this season is over. Straight up.

At home, first division game, after a tough road loss, and with all the motivation to beat the brakes off the team who stole all our headlines, and this is what we do...

The absolute worst game I have seen from this fucking team since 2012 vs houston. Hopefully someone stands the [profanity deleted] up and holds a mutiny again, preferably a mutiny to get Jefferson shipped the [profanity deleted] out and get a trade going
the season is not over. It's never as bad or as good as it may appear.

Only thing that matters is the development of our young players. We were never winning a Sb or anythint with this current team. The fact that i have yet to see us undercenter other than on goal line ja fucking crazy

You and many others seriously underestimate how winnable this division is lol same story last year with an even tougher division and we switched QBs to Lamar midseason and ended up controlling our own destiny and making it to the playoffs. Yes we had a much better defense and lost a lot of playmakers on that side, but our offense has added talent and is capable of leading the team. Just not when we beat ourselves like we did today with dropped passes, turnovers and bad play calling.

We clearly made an aggressive trade offer for Jalen Ramsey are willing to part with a 1st or 2nd round pick in order to improve. Its week 5 now, 12 games left...the Ravens are still very much in the playoff hunt.

I literally hate it so much after a ravens loss - and now with it being a loss to the browns also - I’m just gonna have to stay away from all nfl related media this week which is doubly frustrating because what else am I gonna listen to on my commute every day?
baseball postseason!!!!

We knew that our pass rush comes from our coverage. So no Jimmy at the moment is really hurting us. Not to mention he is a superb tackler

we're also not athletic on D.

This is all Ozzies doing. His drafting = senile old man that's lost touch.

and this is the result. We have no WOW players on D.
What !!!???!?? We have the best FS since Ed Reed !!! Lmao of corse through free agency

So, do people still think that Peanit is such an upgrade over Mosely on passing downs? Just like I thought. Without Mosely telling him what to do he is lost.
exactly. Mosely never got enough credit, but he put everyone in position and there weren't as many communication issues. I was a huge fan of CJ's but I also thought it was a bad idea to pay him that much money.

That is always the problem/excuse, never enough good WRs. Flacco won the Super Bowl with Anquan Boldin, Torrey Smith, Jacoby Jones and a decent TE in Pitta. We drafted Hayden Hurst in the 1st round and have yet to utilize him alongside Andrews. We have Marquise Brown who looked like crap today and so far has been inconsistent. Don't utilize Boykin or our other young receivers. We have plenty of talent, Lamar just seems to have no answer for the blitz seen in 2 straight losses so far. Add online to the list of "never enough players".

Just 1 week though on to Pittsburgh in what should be a get back on track game.

I can't get that 3rd and 6 shotgun drae off my mind, thats a play a 12 year old runs on Madden.

The Ravens offensive coordinator curse continues. Not to judge Greg Roman off of one bad game...but I'm not the biggest fan of his, there is a reason the 49ers gave up on his system that helped lead a team to the super bowl.
that's a ridiculous comment. Roman has never had a good QB, until now.

Losing Suggs, Mosley, AND Weddle has left this defense without any leadership, and it shows. I hoped that Thomas would take up some of the slack there along with JS, but I haven’t seen much evidence of that, especially now that JS is out.

We should have paid Mosley and tried to trade JS. He’s gone next year anyway.
