The Bad, The Ugly, and the Pathetic

that year he went to the super bowl was his second season in the league and they had one hell of a defense. Sure they had an offense set up for him as we did for Lamar last season, but to compare the two is ridiculous. He didn't have the arm talent that Lamar Jackson does have. Not even close. Could he run, yes I didn't say he couldn't do that. Just watch some of his film and I'm not talking highlights.
Just as Lamar got hyped up last year beat a tough Chargers team in the regular season and lead the team to the playoffs with the #1 overall defense in football, yes the best of the best defense in football and an offense capable of winning, Lamar choked in the post season.

Whereas although not perfect and despite losing the super bowl Kapernick still completed 61 percent of his passes 100 QB rating for 798 yards 4TD 2int and crazy rushing stats as well including 181 in a single game.

Lamar and the number 1 overall ravens D against the Chargers-

14/29 194 2TD/1nt with most of those yards coming late in garbage time he attempted a comeback.

He flatout looked like he couldn't throw.

Like I said Lamar has much more potential than Kaepernick OBVIOUSLY. My point being Greg Roman has had good QBs before such as Kaep and even Tyrod was decent in Buffalo a few seasons back. Good not great game managers who make more plays with their legs than their arm but can win games make the playoffs...a trend I hope Lamar can improve on.

to be fair lamar has missed some throws this year too. He is far better than last season but he still has been missing a few throws.

Lamar has to better harness his emotions during those throws. He needs to calm down and "see the play" before "he makes the play". The excitement about seeing an open receiver and then trying to "quickly" get him the ball has his emotion all over the place imo. Once he learns how to settle those nerves within he'll be a lethal package (i.e. accurate throws, runs, extending plays etc.).

Wasn’t this Lamar’s like 12th professional game as a starter and he’s like 22? HE WILL BE FINE!!!!!!! He’s been miles better than any other QB selected before him in his draft. Give the kid a damn break and let him develop. Jesus Christ

Thank you. He was also the only reason we were in this game in the 3rd quarter. He's a baller and a hard worker that has miles to improve and that isn't taking anything away from him. I'd rather have him over any qb in last years draft and I'm a Mayfield fan as well.

i feel like you havent watched the first 4 games of the year... because you're parroting the old lamar inaccuracy stuff from last year as if he is still that same qb...
I have watched all 4 games. I can absolutely say that Lamar has improved as a passer, but you can't say he is anywhere near perfect yet. Other than an outlier of a game against the dolphins, his passing stats look pretty mediocre on paper. Less than 300yds passing in 3 straight games where you go 1-2 and quite a few bad passes from Lamar. Including against KC where he had zero passing TD and got fortunate enough to have garbage time production to save what would have been a horrible day, and he has had a lot of garbage time stats late in games that give him extra cushion on what would have been even worse stats.

I support Lamar, love him as a person and think he needs more time to perfect his throwing game but so far it has been "good not great" and that is being courteous to say the least.

Slightly overhyped right now. But room to improve absolutely.

I saw the game in person and middle of the field was used and abused all day long. Cleveland attacked with the screens and our LBs have trouble with diagnosing plays and read/react to go along with that. My problem with Jefferson wasn't with him in coverage but more so his tackling mechanics was horrid.

Lamar I felt missed a couple of open people. He missed Seth Roberts for a wide open play that could have resulted in a TD. Hayden Hurst also had a big missed opportunity on what could have been a big play as well.

who said he was perfect.

Marlon the only bright spot all day

Dont understand any critique of Lamar in this one. Offense couldn’t find rhythm but not a shock given the Ds shit play drops and drive killing fumble. That is not today’s story

It’s getting hard to buy the whole “we just need to clean a few things up” or “just got to square away some communication issues” as the answer to our D. It’s hard to see it dramatically change.

Lamar is in no way a finished product. Colin Kaepernick is absolutely a finished product.
Yet again this says more about how good Kaep was and less about Jackson lol As soon as Kaep was thrust into a starting role similar to Lamar last year he won playoff games and nearly a super bowl and we all know damn well how close that got haha If Kaep was a finished product at the same point in his career than Lamar that's a franchises dream to have a game manager capable of making throws and winning in the playoffs. I'd say that's a pretty decent finished product at that point.

And my og point was that you tried to say Greg Roman never had a good QB before Lamar when he indeed had 2 decent enough QBs to make the playoffs one of which managed one of the most legendary performances by a QB in playoff history and nearly won a super bowl id say that is good enough

Kaep was finished before he got started. Never a good qb and never will be a good qb. If he was such a great QB, other teams would have attempted to sign him and don't give me the distraction excuse.

No communication can fix attrocious D line and bad linebacker play. Absolutely disgusting, this is not how real Ravens play.

my point is still, Greg Roman has never had a good qb, until now.

I'm so done with that b.s. talk too man! Done!

In order for this D to change, we need QUALITY PLAYERS, not these BUMS I'm watching! To have "miscommunications" and piss poor tackling in one game, I can see. Perhaps, a second game, I'm getting pissed. But in 3 games in a row? I'm LIVID!!!

Our defense NEEDS quality, aggressive and hungry dawgs that take PRIDE in being a dominant defense! These BUMS don't have it! Humphrey was the only BEAST on the field today!

I dont want to be in a world where the Browns win the division and have a winning record

I have a friend that is a diehard Cowboy fan, as I am a Ravens fan. We've been verbally battling the entire offseason about the Browns and this game! My friend kept pubbing up Mayfield and the Browns and said that they'd come in to M&T Bank and beat the Ravens. He's always said; "The Ravens are a little club in a small market (in comparison to the Cowboys). No one cares about them or believes in them but you Ravens fans!" Then he always says; "No one is afraid of y'all because RAY LEWIS, ED REED and HALOTI NGATA are gone!"

He was texting me every good play for the Browns during our game today! Then texted me; "I TOLD YOU!" after the game!

I'M PISSED!!!!

I need the SAINTS to beat DEM BUMZ tonight for some paybacks!!!

Say no more. I'm rooting for the Saints

Kaep was finished before he got started. Never a good qb and never will be a good qb. If he was such a great QB, other teams would have attempted to sign him and don't give me the distraction excuse.

Like I said in previous post I laughed when SF gave him a massive contract, of course I knew he was overrated and laughed during the post SB run hype when he became a star with all the ads and press surrounding him. But although Lamar is indeed better than Kaep talent wise, it's hard to argue with those post season performances. Kaep did decline after, got injured and had to endure the Chip Kelley explosion that completely flipped that franchise into rebuild mode. Kaep never saw a talented team like Jim Harbaughs were, just like we are clammering about a lack of play makers on a much improved team on offense compared to last year...Kaepernick never saw significant defenses or offensive playmakers later in his career and lost just as Chip Kelley went out the door too. The whole team burned down.

And you would be ignorant to think the "distraction factor" is not the main reason he is not in the league anymore at least as a backup role. A guy who made plays and in some cases single handedly propelled his team toward the super bowl, to have former players and teammates laugh and rant about how truly athletic and electric he was and still is during his career. Not a starter by any means but the fact that he is a very intriguing backup QB who can give your team a chance to win and still no one wants him purely screams PR stunt to me. It's no question his distraction is the reason he is out the league, hundreds of thousands of fans including in Baltimore boycotted the NFL during the kneeling controversy, drove NfL ratings down and is a big reason he is not in the league.

Personally I have always hated Kaep always knew he was overrated and more of an athletic game manager back up type rather than franchise QB, and HATED his kneeling nonsense. So this is non biased opinion...but you can't argue that Kaep is at the very least a solid game manager who looked even better with the right team around him.
