I guess you don't.Welcome aboard! But how do we know it's really you and not a fake?
So I did the Forum mock back when it was on BR.com. It just wasn't for me. Great idea and all, but once I started doing it, I realized it was just a little too "unrealistic" for me. I liked the idea of running a team with a Salary cap and everything, but once I started seeing trades of like Drew Brees for Andy Dalton and stuff like that, I was out. It just wasn't for me.well please give it a chance. You are a valuable contributor and it would be great to have you on board again. Especially during the forum mock, don't remember if you played that game before. btw, what is Disqus? Am I missing something? If you're talking about the social media comments section over on BR.com, I tend to avoid those altogether.
ok, that's what I thought you were talking about, just didn't know it was the disqus platform. I was on BR.com as well under RavensFanMania. Joined around December 2014 and was sorry to see it go. Big mistake on their part. We definitely lost some members in the transfer to these boards, but this board is active enough, just not as active as the BR.com site was.So I did the Forum mock back when it was on BR.com. As for BR.com, most already know this (I think)...
We had the message boards over there, they closed a few years back, and many came here. The "Comments" section underneath all of the Ravens news articles exists still. They switched over to the Disqus platform (google it) to oversee that. Basically they just have like one or two mods that try to prevent profanity and stuff, but they started power tripping and would get Disqus to start banning people when they said something they didn't like.
They put me on "comments awaiting moderation" for like a year, so the mods (of which there's like two, and they rarely actually "work") would have to approve my comments before they would post. Frequently, that could take hours or even days. So I switched profiles a bunch of times, and then they just IP banned me.
It basically just turned into the the online version of the people who call into 105.7 the Fan on a nightly basis.
Inevitably it just became me vs MomGene (I'm sure many of the regs here know, remember, or may even still talk to her). She spent the last almost 12 months doing nothing but bashing Lamar, loving Joe, and wouldn't make literally any comments about anything else, other than the occasional dig at the FO for not spending top dollar on guys like CJ or Suggs. Basically just was crying on a daily basis about how Joe wasn't there anymore. I had enough of it at that point.

Chubb hit 21MPH on that TD run, fastest of the season, he wasn't going to catch him anyways so I don't understand the criticism he's getting for pulling.Did Thomas really say he was worried about pulling a hamstring?
He's a professional athlete. Should be able to hit full speed without pulling anything. He couldn't possibly have said that.
I've been on other boards as well, but most active on this board. There are a few Ravens forums out there. Once BR.com made that change a few years back I was gone! Found a few other spots to chat it up with other Ravens fans with various views and personal insights differing about the Ravens. I find that all Ravens boards are an extreme microcosm of the Ravens fan base as a whole. So, I don't judge it based off a few cats in here or there.
People, our offense is #1 ranked statically and regardless we're talking about an offense that has put points on the board and only has 3 turnovers through 3 games. I don't see why there's a huge need to criticize the offense. I understand it's not perfect and yes, there are flaws but our defense is where the heat should be applied on.
Peanut has been a huge bust this year, poor positioning and he cannot diagnose plays back there. He should NOT be your primary ILB. I'm sorry but that's just the truth of the matter on that end. I legit think ILB should be our biggest priority in the draft and who ever is the best ILB should be our first pick. I'm just over the guys we have now.
Also, I think Brandon Williams slander should no longer be tolerated again. I think we all understand how important of a player he is and now I'm convinced that he's the most important player on our defense. Man, I cannot imagine how difficult it's going to be to replace him because damn he's so important.
But worse you considered a fair call out a "ridiculous comment" and claimed this is Greg Romans first time in his career working with a good QB. And of course we had our Kaepernick talk where it's a no brainier Kaepernick was plenty successful after being inserted and favored over Alex Smith.I didn't say you couldn't critique, Greg Roman. I never said that and if you interpreted it that way, well I'm sorry, but that's not what I meant. You can always critique someone or something. He's just always been more about the run game, but has never really had anyone that has had real good arm talent. That's what I was saying.
Sorry but we put up points in Kc game when it was basically over. Scored a td today when game was basically over.outside of dolphins, our offense havent looked as good.People, our offense is #1 ranked statically and regardless we're talking about an offense that has put points on the board and only has 3 turnovers through 3 games. I was saying the same shit.. in the playoffs, teams would make this current team look like shit. But worse you considered a fair call out a "ridiculous comment" and claimed this is Greg Romans first time in his career working with a good QB. And of course we had our Kaepernick talk where it's a no brainier Kaepernick was plenty successful after being inserted and favored over Alex Smith.
So to try and say Kaepernick wasn't at the least a good QB when he put up historic stats in the post season and nearly won a super bowl, is to say that Lamar Jackson is not a good QB.
And that's not even the point, who cares how good or bad Greg Roman has been throughout his career...the man made a poor conservative call the same type of calls that got our last OC fired.
Anyone can draw up an offense for a mobile QB, it's not rocket science. Bottom line our offense has been mediocre passing the ball with a good rushing attack that is boosted by Lamar's ungodly athleticism.
Imagine what Bill Bellichek and his defense will do against Lamar if we do not fix this offense.
Not taking shots down field, not incorporating Hayden Hurst over Boyle or Andrews. Not drawing up more plays for Hollywood, Boykin and our WRs leaving the damn TV analysts every week to say why Lamar doesn't spread the ball around more. And of course the bad play calling. Rather blame Roman than Lamar, Lamar a little bit and others for mistakes like fumbles drops etc.
But like others have said for whatever reason our offense has been increasingly and frighteningly stagnant at times this far this season, that won't fly in the post season.
To think our running game is playing at this level with our interior o-line being a clear and distinct weakness is a testament to our coaching in regards to our ability to run the ball.I think the good news is... for the first time in seemingly forever, it doesn't feel like the offense needs much. Sure, would like maybe another weapon on the outside and some upgrades on the interior of the Oline, but they don't feel like high priorities at this point.
Next year you can essentially go all in on a defense that's already pretty young. Linebackers specifically... can sign or draft 2-3 of them, at least, both inside and outside.
But sadly... that doesn't help us this year. Its not what fans normally like to hear, but I never viewed this roster as a SB contending one this season anyway. Its like year 1 of a probably 2-3 year process to build a real special team. We've got some offensive talent that should continue to get better. Now we just need some more on defense, while trying to keep as much as we can.
I'm usually the guy who says don't overspend on players, but guys like Humphrey and Stanley can basically just pick how much they want to make and we should give it to them, and I wouldn't be opposed to ponying up for Judon or Pierce either. They're not world-beaters, but if you let them walk, what's really left? You're talking an almost entire overhaul of OLB, ILB, and DL.
Maybe next year is the year to transition off the "3-4" (which we hardly run anymore anyway), and start to target more interior pass rushers on the Dline. If we're going to go pretty much clean slate, all options should be open.
Because offense is clearly all we have going right now and despite being highly ranked due to over hyped padded stats when you have a QB rushing for 120yards in a single game, or 5tds in a single game against a college team, the stats look good on paper.People, our offense is #1 ranked statically and regardless we're talking about an offense that has put points on the board and only has 3 turnovers through 3 games. The actual blame should be going to the defense, not Lamar Jackson. If Chris Moore gets his feet in bounds and Ingram doesn't fumble the ball (one of only three turnovers this season, just happened to all happen today) we may have had a different outcome to this game. He's a baller and I never was a fan of Kaepernick and that's not just my opinion of him. You said yourself he was more of a game manager than anything else. Did he have a good postseason run and almost win a super bowl, yes he did and I'll give him credit for that. That and the stout San Francisco 49ers defense deserves credit as well as ours did last season. But worse you considered a fair call out a "ridiculous comment" and claimed this is Greg Romans first time in his career working with a good QB. Padded stats from the Miami game and some garbage time yards/points. What are you seeing from the offense? 3 of 4 starting secondary members were out for them and we managed all of under 200 passing yards before Sneads 50 yard td. There's plenty of blame for them and Ingram can't fumble there with how shitty the defense looks. Was looking like we were about to tie then went down 2 scores.
"Overhyped stat padding", you guys are so desperate to ignore the obvious improvements Lamar has made.Because offense is clearly all we have going right now and despite being highly ranked due to over hyped padded stats when you have a QB rushing for 120yards in a single game, or 5tds in a single game against a college team, the stats look good on paper.
But we are still losing, and unable to pass the ball consistently for several weeks now.
If Lamar did not find Snead on the meaningless 50yd TD at the end of the game while losing,he threw for less than 200yds 2td/2int and had plenty of opportunities but came up short.
