Coaching Carousel 2026

Personally, I hope we get someone who is apart of the puzzle and can be a CEO type too. I won't mention Mike Mac but he is an example of someone who is in that mold, to an extent.

I think we could have our cake and eat it, too.
better be Championship quality cake

i mean supposedly mike macdonald wasn't that kind of guy at all when he got to seattle

One thing I think us firing JH does for us is give us the pick(s) of the litter. I think he jumped to the top of everyone's list, so as long as he takes his time, which I think he will, we're the only team where anyoneelse can sign. Moreover, other than maybe the Bills, we are the most attractive to all the suitors to be HC because of Lamar AND we can expect to be back in the mix of the Playoffs next year with what we have overall compared to others.

For sure, which is why it may be more about who COULD become that guy. I trust Steve to identify that kind of talent, but you hit it--that's exactly what I would expect and want. If that's Mike McDaniel (and it could be, because Steve could coach and mentor him up and he WILL do it), then cool! We need someone who can bring continuity and I think having someone who can provide a lot to the gameplan like McDaniel or whoever is a critical quality we need here.

I am trying to not be biased but the Ravens have to be the #1 job unless we're talking someone's childhood team or some other team that holds sentimentality to someone.

Pittsburgh could also be available, and they are a great franchise with long history and good players. They are also missing a long-term QB. So are they attractive? Not sure, tbh.

But I do agree with the premise here that we would essentially dictate the market because most people would wait to see if they get the job here. I also imagine we would quickly tell people if they're going further or not.

the word is that he's still not that guy in meeting rooms in seattle
but he's a great coach who's got the respect of everyone so it doesnt matter that he's not an amazing vocal leader within the building because everyone sees the process and the talent

there's also no reason to think that mike mcdaniel isnt that guy in miami unless im mistaken - the media have fawned over him at various points and the feedback from the players seems to be that they love playing for him

So harbaugh wants to bring his own general manager? Who tf would he have in mind lol?

he's not said that anywhere, but that would be my assumption
the obvious answer is chad alexander (who has been interviewed by the dolphins already) - and who worked for the ravens for 20 years
he might go after joe douglas, he might try and steal one of the ravens executives from the front office like George Kokinis
