Thanks for doing this. I'm wondering if the reason it went down was due to the rookie salary cap. Prior to 2011 and the uncapped year the NFL didn't have a rookie cap and of course Sam Bradford had that groundbreaking 50m contract as a 1st year rookie.It did go down but not as much as I thought. Still took 3 yrs tho to get back to 2009 numbers. After that sheeesh. It jumped at a rate of 10-12 mil each year.
