Next Up: vs 49ers

I don't think this game will be as close as most think. The key to stopping Lamar is having strong man-man corners, and the 9ers don't have that. That, and I see them having very little success throwing the ball. Hell, the Pats had the #1 D when we faced them, and a much better offense, and they got blown out the water.

they've got at least one pretty good man corner who's been inured most of the year
and even with that they have a historically (statistically) great pass defence in terms of yards allowed

you may well be right but dont diss my dude ahkello witherspoon lol

That guy Richard Sherman is also pretty good

49er fan here. Come in peace. I just want to wish your team good luck. Here to a good game, no injures. I believe this will be a knockout grind of a game and a nail bitter. I hope for a niner win, but honestly, I do not see it happening. Niners really struggle with mobile QB. No matter the outcome best of luck for the rest of the year.
Welcome! This type of game, I believe, will come down to the bitter end and saying that, it could go either way especially with the weather becoming a deciding factor. I don't know why you guys struggle with mobile QBs (specifically Kyler), but who knows. As long as neither team gets injuries, then I'm good.

Glad we could help you guys by beating the Rams even though they look like they'll miss the playoffs. Also, thank you very much for beating the rest of the AFC North especially the Browns.

i think we either lose this by one score or we blow them out - we dont really do close wins

Is Staley still hurt? Who all is injured or likely not to play for them?
Staley, Kittle, Ford did not practice yesterday. Kittle was just given a day off due to his broken ankle he is playing on. Staley and Ford game-time decision. Gould should play Sunday though he is listed as day to day. Pettis is most likely out he injured his knee in practice yesterday. However, he has been benched and has only played some special teams because he has hands of stone and couldn't catch a wet noodle.

Most of our injured players who are not on IR should be back for Sunday's game. Only two truly questionable are Staley and Ford.

Honestly, I believe our struggles with mobile QB is due to our D-line being so aggressive they tend to over pursue. They need to learn to maintain their gap assignment and collapse the pocket around Lamar in order to keep him one dimensional. This goes for all mobile QB. Hopefully, D. Ford plays Sunday this should help. Who knows though.

edge discipline is key vs lamar because if you make a decision one way or the other he will make sure you made the wrong decision - i think nick bosa has struggled biting on zone-reads this year - he'll have to be a lot better at holding his discipline if he wants to contain lamar who will key on him if he's the read

and in terms of dee ford - if he sees snaps im afraid we're going to run right at him - not historically been a good run defender and we love to pull towards the right side where dee ford will get most of his snaps

Much easier said than done though. Half the time there's no telling where the edge is because we create extra gaps on the run and those need to be plugged, too. LBs plug them but then TE mismatch is already there for Lamar's pass. If he wanted to start learning to be be disciplined, he picked the wrong game to do it.

oh im not saying its easy - just saying that the ravens will use nick bosa's aggressiveness against him

Living in Northern California, I can’t stand 49er fans. Please win this game.

There are a lot of statistics about LJ's play, like the ones rossi or mania posted. But there wasn't really much about our receiving corps. So I decided to do a little graph. I included only Wr&TE who have been targeted >30 except for our receiving corps. Our WR situation is much better than last season when most of our guys performed well below average. Especially Snead improved whereas Roberts has a slight drop off from last season. I'm pleasantly surprised about Boykins stats who seems to establish himself as a premier deep threat. Sidenote: Perriman yikes....

Normally, playing the likes of the Seahawks, Patriots, Texans and Rams would have me wondering "IF" the Ravens can get the job done? Well, those cats, OUR CATS; have proved to me that....whenever they stay true to themselves offensively....THEY CAN HANDLE ANY DEFENSIVE FRONT! Sure, Watt was out vs the Texans but they manhandled Donald and up next is Bosa.

I want to see OUR CATS plough through and mow those bums down with the running game, Lamar to throw for a few hundred yards and a couple of TD's and then of course; for him to RUN ALL THROUGH THEIR DEFENSE and get the "W" to advance to 10-2 and SILENCE THE CRITICS AND DOUBTERS.......AGAIN!!!

GO RAVENS!!!

The 2 best defensive fronts we’ve played against so far this year were Cleveland and pittsburgh - one of those teams beat us and the other we struggled against - the ravens are a much better team on both sides of the ball since then but the 49ers front is the best well have faced since week 5 I think

Will be a good litmus test of whether this offence is stoppable at all

Every time weve seen a good team this year, I say "This is our biggest test" and then we just dominate. For the first time ever I am so super confident in this team. They keep giving me reasons to just relax and enjoy the game. Very strange for a long time supporter. This game WILL be a test, yet again. I think we will pass with flying colors, pun intended. Go RAVENS!

Agreed 100%.

At some point, we gotta flip that script and say; "Playing the RAVENS is this or that teams next "biggest test". Listen, Patriots fans are "confident" that the Super Bowl rolls through them and that they will make the playoffs and win the Super Bowl EVERY year (regardless of the teams that they play) they get that opportunity!

There is NOTHING wrong with we Ravens fans FINALLY being able to say the same thing based upon the team that we have this season!

whether it happens this year or in the near future, it certainly does seem that we ARE going to be the team that everyone has to go through to get to the SB.
