General Draft Thoughts

Ravens have also met with:
Chris Orr
James Smith- Williams ...edge.
Darrell Stewart WR Michigan state

Btw if we pick Murray You have permission to ban me at least for the first day of the draft as I can not guarantee that I won't crash the server with my anger.

Well that does not describe the Cincinnati Bengals at all. Perhaps Burrow may pull an Eli after all?
Luck too Colts to playoffs after being the worst team.. borrow need to do the same since he never been a loser.. this the nfl and unless youre BB and brady... losing seasons are guaranteed

tbf the bengals of the dalton era had been for a while a loaded roster who were a great regular season team - they just couldnt win a playoff game even when it was harder to lose

The Eagles pick at 21 and have been doing their homework on C Resar Ruiz, who has spoken with the team several times. Perhaps 21 is too early but draft history shows Centers usually comes off the board in that range.

2019 - Garrett Bradbury (Pick 18)
2018 - Frank Ragnow (Pick 20), Billy Price (Pick 21)
2017- No Centers Taken in 1st
2016 - Ryan Kelly (Pick 18)
2015 - Cameron Erving (Pick 19)
2014 - No Centers Taken in 1st
2013 - Travis Frederick (Pick 31)
2010- Maurkice Pouncey (Pick 18)

eagles have always prioritized their O line. Wouldn't shock me.

Ruiz is definitely someone who we may be interested in, so I hope he's still there when we're on the clock, just so we have the option if we are so inclined.

On the o-line topic ... Eric said he sees some guys that played OT in college that would transition well to OG. I'm wondering if the couple OTs who could be available in our range that have received some 1st round grades are among the dudes that that could transition. That comes down to Josh Jones, Austin Jackson (and maybe Ezra Cleveland). Looking at the eval on these guys, I don't think we'd view any of them as 1st rounders.

It basically seems to me that if we were to expend a 1st rounder on O line, Ruiz would be the guy.

Reading the eval on "The Draft Network" here is what they say about Ruiz:

"Ruiz projects as an early impact starter in the NFL with the upside to become the pillar of an NFL offensive line for years to come."

If that's true, that sounds like a guy we'd love to have.

would not be surprised if he goes at 17 to the cowboys or basically anywhere before 28 lol

honestly those 3 are the guys id least want moving inside

when he mentioned the 1st round guys all being able to move inside, EDC specifically name-checked Becton, Wirfs and Wills - i think andrew thomas could be a fit inside too of those first 4

jackson and josh jones do not seem like fits inside to me and ezra cleveland is not someone i think we'd be interested in at all - might be a top of the 2nd type talent for a purely stretch/inside-zone team but not for a team like ours with a scheme like ours

that being said there are loads of tackles who i like inside some of whom project only inside and some of whom could do both outside of those consensus top 4 tackles:

Robert Hunt might be my favourite OG prospect but played RT in college, Netane Muti likewise played mostly LT but did play some LG in college in his limited playing time (not the biggest fan of Muti in general but he's a high ceiling prospect and projects best inside), Tyre Phillips is a good option to slot inside, further down you also have Hakeem Adeniji and really small school Zach Sammartino

guys who i think still could play T but would project inside for us could be: Isaiah Wilson, Saahdiq Charles, Ben Bartch, Jack Driscoll
