Now former NFL Player Ben Watson called out Roger Goodell:

“Commissioner Goodell,” Watson wrote on Twitter. “We all realize that football is an imperfect game, played, coached and officiated by imperfect people. What occurred last Sunday in New Orleans though was outside of that expected and accepted norm. Your continued silence on this matter is unbecoming of the position you hold, detrimental to the integrity of the game and disrespectful and dismissive to football fans everywhere. From the locker room to Park Ave., accountability is what makes our league great. Lead by example. We are waiting.”

OH GIVE IT A BREAK (not you, JO)! Tf you want him to say, "Yeah guys, it was a terrible non-call. Sorry about that."

No to PI being reviewable.

the game is too slow as it is. It would be UNBEARABLE.
It wouldn't be too bad if it were part of the reviews coaches can already use (so they have the same amount of reviews, just an extra thing to use it on).

With that said, I'm not sure this would have changed the Saints game since coaches can't challenge in the last two minutes unless I'm mistaken on that.

Making officiating a full-time gig would probably lift the standards quite a bit, as would streamlining the rules where possible, though that could get expensive given a lot of current officials are really just moonlighters who are lawyers, bankers and insurance underwriters for a living.

the NFL basically already came out and said that anyway through Al Riveron (who's the guy who runs all the officiating etc. anyway) - why would Goodell break the norm over this decision when it's already been addressed and acknowledged that a mistake was made

like im all in on the officiating being awful and the nfl needing to do something about it but this idea that the Saints are getting screwed more than any team typically is ridiculous - it just happened that they got done in a big spot

hopefully the spotlight on it leads to some meaningful officiating change but the saints need to get over it - they still should have won that game in overtime and only have themselves to blame for not getting a point on that drive

Never mind that they were up 13-0 (could've been up more) and Michael "can't guard Mike" Thomas was limited to 4 catches for 36 yds.

Colts re-sign Kicker Adam Vinatieri to a new one year contract. Vinatieri has not ruled out playing beyond 2019.

Will there be more?’’ Vinatieri said, via Mike Chappell of Indianapolis’ WTTV. “We’ll see. If I play good and everything’s headed in the right direction, we’ll see.

“I’m not saying this one’s it. I’m not saying, ‘One year, and I’m done for sure.’’’

Robey-Coleman fined for hit on Tommylee Lewis

NFL fined Rams CB Nickell Robey-Coleman $26,739 for his helmet-to-helmet hit on Saints WR Tommylee Lewis in Sunday's NFC Championship.

The Rams slot corner will reportedly appeal the fine. This will do little to satisfy Saints fans as Robey-Coleman should have been flagged both for an illegal hit and pass interference on a play that likely cost New Orleans its shot at playing in Super Bowl LIII. By fining Robey-Coleman, the league is essentially admitting fault on one of the most egregious missed calls in recent memory. The Saints had their chances to put the Rams away on Sunday, but if the correct call had been made, New Orleans would likely be preparing to face New England right now.

Honestly that’s kind of bull shit because he didn’t lower his helmet whatsoever. It’s bull shit that you get fined for incidental helmet contact. Especially considering that was very minor helmet contact...
