Around the NFL: News and Rumors

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Drew Brees is slated to miss six weeks with a torn thumb ligament.

Ben Roethlisberger is done for the season.

Damn........... two veteran QBs done at the same exact time. Season over for both teams. Mason Rudolph's performance against Seattle better be how he performs against everyone else but if not, their season is done. Saints should be in a good position to snag a franchise QB next year.

I'm certainly hoping the Steelers win enough games to put them out of position for the top QBs in this draft. Same for the Bengals, I want them to win some games. As for the Saints, they may also be in position to win some games and get them out of position, they are too talented.

Time for a new era.

in week 3, the AFC North will have 3 starting qbs in their 2nd year
Baker Mayfield (who is 24)
Mason Rudolph (who is 24)
Lamar Jackson (who is 22)

just saw this - apparently dealing with the elbow injury all week but it was too much - steelers now in the tank for tua battle lol
I think Rudolph is serviceable enough and has enough around him to get some wins, so I doubt they'll be in top 10 draft position.

The best case would be for Rudolph to do just well enough to tease the Steelers into believing in him, but not good enough to make them a contender. Then, Ben can come back next year one year older and one year more bloated. One has to think this is the beginning of the end of this era.

Really sucks that the Jets are so depleted. Browns getting a bye week. If they blow this one, well, they will be in serious trouble.

Tank For Tua:
Broncos 0-2
Panthers 0-2
Jaguars 0-2
Redskins 0-2
Bengals 0-2
Giants 0-2
Steelers 0-2
Dolphins 0-2
Browns/Jets* - 0-2

Dolphins be like.... we aren't tanking hard enough. Trade more players!!!

Another one gone?

ELI MANNING
QB, NEW YORK GIANTS

Giants coach Pat Shurmur declined to name Eli Manning the Giants' Week 3 starter.
When asked about moving on from Manning, Shurmur slyly responded that Eli's "been our starter so far." He also said it's "fair" to have the discussion on switching to No. 6 overall pick Daniel Jones by Wednesday's practice. Manning's been nothing short of a nightmare through two games, completing 62.9 percent of his passes for 556 yards (6.2 YPA), two scores, and two picks. Even if he were to fail in his first season, the obvious move is to insert 'Danny Dimes', who went 25-of-30 (83.3%) for 369 yards and two touchdowns in preseason play. The rookie should be scooped from waivers in 2-QB leagues immediately.

The Saints might grab a franchise QB, but they aren't getting #1. They have already won more games (1) than Miami will this year lol.

The fucking Chiefs have claimed Greg Senat, clearly a move to garner intelligence about our run game and Greg Roman's offense. A petty move by Andy Reid if you ask me.
