There is a report that Dan Snyder met with Rick Smith multiple times on his yacht during the 2019 season and considered hiring him and having him conduct the coach search. Supposedly they talked about rebuilding the Redskins and the best methods to do so. In the end he decided to stay with the coach-centric approach, like the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks.
The Skins have two really good people in the front office, one of which has been rumored to be leaving the team when his contract expires affter the draft. He has an excellent reputation around the league as a one of the top capologist, but that's only part of his job as it had evolved over the last few years.
Another name to watch out for if he were to be let go due to his league wide reputation is Kyle Smith. Kyle Smith would be great to add to our front office if we had a chance, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't the next General Manager or at the very least with another organization.

Giants waited too long to interview Rhule, because he is now the new coach of the Carolina Panthers.
Great hire buy them, but I can't imagine what the ripple effects will have ... Thought for sure he would be going to the Giants.

apparently so did david tepper - decided not to even let him interview with the giants and just do the deal - didnt even wait to interview josh mcdaniels either lol

At least the guy who bought the gloves is donating them to a children's hospital in Minnesota.
OMG Joe Judge is like a younger Coughlin - I'm just not sure that with the CBA the way it is and players the way they are that this is going to work - he's definitely passionate about physical football but this could go very wrong very quickly - he might reinvigorate that squad (and he's clearly gettleman's wet dream of a coach) but i do worry that he might lose that locker room really quickly especially if things dont go well
Judge and the NY Giants are interviewing Kitchens for OC. Judge worked with him at Miss St.
Eric Schaffer, Sr VP of Football operations with the Redskins has mutually parted ways (my ass). He has been with the Skins since 2003 in multiple roles, many people credit his work in the draft and salary cap work over the past several years as part of Washington’s few successes. I wouldn't mind adding him to the Ravens staff. At the very least he could be a capologist for the Ravens.
i think the problem there with bringing him to baltimore is that im not sure there's a role here for a capologist that doesnt already exist - certainly not at a VP of football operations type level - our senior team here is pretty filled up with guys we like - EDC, Ozzie, Pat Moriarty at executive level then you've got Joe Hortiz and George Kokinis on the personnel side with Vincent Newsome (who used to specialise in pro personnel) and we just added last offseason Nick Matteo (who's role is unclear but seems to be a specialist capologist and roster transactions guy who previously worked at the nfl office in a salary cap/CBA type role)
we lost chad alexander to the jets who's job was a senior personnel guy (like 1 wrung below hortiz and kokinis on the ladder) and has yet to be replaced but not sure that's a fit for a guy like Schaffer...
When Kevin O'Connell wasn't retained as offensive coordinator for the Skins and instead they hired Scott Turner, son of Norv Turner, the stars started to align in Cleveland. McDaniels and O'Connell are very close and have been close from their time together in New England. I think McDaniels will be hired and KOC will become the OC.
Saleh's the riskiest choice of those 3, McDaniels and Bieniemy both high-level assistants and come from great coaching trees - mcdaniels has HC experience but wasnt great
i think mcdaniels has been the favourite for this job for a while so id lean that way but i think all 3 are probably good choices

yeah that's probably true and the reason he is leaving DC is due to Rivera bringing in the Panthers guy he is familiar with, leaving him with no room for growth. He's been rumored to be taking over for Bruce Allen as GM since last offseason when they thought he was going to be fired. He's been passed over more than bitter herbs on a sedar plate.
