Of course there are no hard feelings. No one should take a productive conversation personally, it's just a differing of opinions and of course you are hoping to be wrong@RavensMania @allblackraven
Just want to state no hard feeling towards either of you lol. At least this is a productive debate that's related to football. We're in a disagreement but at least have a common desire for an outcome.
Mania, if your'e correct, you do realize that this is a super bowl team NOW right? Seems a little too good to be true(especially with Hurst there). I want Jensen to do well, I really do, but he's been so off and on and the tape(especially his footwork) just isn't stellar. We're also better off with Lewis at tackle imho. His height puts him at a significant diadvantage when going against the interior lineman. While he should improve, I don't think his ceiling at LG is that high. Goose is better suited in all honesty.....
Honestly, a line of. Stanley-Siragusa-Jensen-Yanda-Lewis at least has POTENTIAL to be good this season. I'd rather acquire a sure thing at center but that's just my opinion. RT only becomes a disaster if Hurst is playing there imo
When you say you don't think Hurst will be starting at RT, Does that mean you believe that we are going to make a move to get someone else to start at RT, or does it mean that you think he will lose that spot to someone else already on the roster?Of course there are no hard feelings. I don't believe Hurst will be starting at right tackle, but I do believe Jensen will be starting at center. I don't believe the Ravens intends to sign a center. Jensen will benefit from the downhill blocking schemes. He's been good at that in the past. In my opinion he will not be pushed back as much as Zuttah was and Flacco will benefit from this. There is no sure thing available at center at this point.
Sorry for not explaining what I meant as it was unclear. I actually think that someone will be brought in at RTWhen you say you don't think Hurst will be starting at RT, Does that mean you believe that we are going to make a move to get someone else to start at RT, or does it mean that you think he will lose that spot to someone else already on the roster?
If we don't bring in anyone, someone is going to have to beat him out, because it appears that they are going forward with him in that starting role at this point. I have no idea who that someone would be. This causes me concern, despite all the words of reassurance about how he wasn't nearly as dreadful last year as he had been in the past. Personally, not being dreadful is not what I'm looking for in a starting RT.
That sounds exciting. Hopefully we get one.Btw, the 2018 draft should be one of the richest OL drafts in years.
That sounds exciting. Hopefully we get one.
Eluemunor is a possibility, but not this year. i agree with you, we may need two top OL in the 2018 draft and it may not be difficult to find one either.Hopefully 2!! Unless Eluemunor strikes a goldmine. Then one top shelf offensive lineman will be fine. I place offensive line as the No.1 priority on ravens above all positions. I think Jensen breaks out at center and Eluemunor is a pleasant surprise. Even then a dominant line above any position
Looking tape of McGlinchey and Nelson on the same side is fun, it's so unfair for DLs on that side.back when juniors hadnt opted out yet, i had quenton nelson pegged as our first rounder in the mid to late first.
id love to see us get him next draft. he looks to be as sure a thing at G as zack martin. but then again if mcglinchey falls then we suddenly have an elite RT. quenton nelson may also be able to play center, so that would also be cool. but yeah, i think hes a future perennial all pro guard, would be a great yanda replacement
Because he wanted to go to Atlanta? Can someone please explain to me why the FUCK we didn't sign Alex Mack when we had the chance? Did we not have enough money?
I don't recall the exact figures, but Spotrac has our 2016 cap space at $4 million, and Mack signed a contract averaging $9 million per season over 5 years. Granted that we could've fit his cap space under our figure in 2016, we wouldn't have been able to afford the 2017 figure that more than doubled in size. Plus he would've had to compete for a starting job, which he likely would've won; but with Atlanta, he had the opportunity to join a team with enough cap space to make him the second highest paid center in the entire league and one that had a wipe open gap at center. I assume the latter option was too enticing for Mack to pass up.Can someone please explain to me why the FUCK we didn't sign Alex Mack when we had the chance? Did we not have enough money?
