holy shit we buying the hell out of the front 7 to add to all the money spent on the back end - EDC wants to get to the draft and just spend everything on offence lol

how on earth do we fit all this under the cap

i dont understand

At this point I don't see Carr being here next year.... he's as good as gone.

um what does this mean?
damn judon loves being cryptic and sending the fanbase into a small meltdown fairly regularly lol

It means he’s an idiot. Just trade him already

Honestly at this rate Kenneth Murray wouldn’t even upset me lol

I’ve been saying for a while now that Murray is gonna find himself on the edge by year 3, he’s a shit LB but a premium blitzer and athlete, if we’re literally just gonna go beef up front with exotic blitzers and 5-6 man secondary then hell a Kenneth Murray blitzing all over the front every snap wouldn’t be the worst thing lol.

also, I have this itchy feeling that bwill might be on the way out
And if hes not blitzing, having him matched up man on man with a RB or TE doesn't scare me given hes prob a better athlete than both. And spying on a QB is pro a specialty.

Being a linebacker in our scheme is prob a dream job rn cause all your gonna have is space lol. We need free roamers. We need guys who can run.

when you put it like this:

EDC working his magic - teams really do need to just block his number

You say that like EDC won't bring in his goons on some Thief's Theme by Nas type of shit.

We’re all hype right now but then Eric is gonna take Kenneth Murray in 1, and then some bullshit dudes in 2 and ruin our excitement
More like YOUR excitement. The JoeyFlex meltdown thread needs to be re-energized!

only if they can read the way they should - we saw how bad we were with athletic guys who didnt know what they were doing last season - we brought in josh bynes who is not athletic at all and it massively changed the defence just because a guy at Mike knew what he was doing and made good reads

as cool as it is to salivate over the athletic gifts of someone like murray the athleticism doesnt matter if he isnt going to make good reads - would rather have basically any of the other day 1 and 2 touted off ball LBs in this draft class

Is there a deal for Judon already in place or something.... how is this going to work? They cannot possibly have enough to even sign draft picks let alone be under the cap...
I think so and I wouldn't be surprised if a trade happens tomorrow.

Brockers is really stout and much more of a trad 3-4 run stopper than say Campbell. Fires off the ball...great pad level. holds up against double teams. fires hands inside and first. real good at getting off blocks and finding ball carrier. plays some nose, some 3 tech and mostly 4I or straight up 4...at least during the two games I've watched so far.

yeah im watching the saints game right now and seeing really active hands and good fight - constantly working to maintain control with his hands especially in the running game

doesnt offer a huge amount in the passing game - he's constantly working to win position but he doesn't win outright often against the pass because he doesnt get himself free - can be caught leaning with his length and get nullified going straight down the middle if he doesnt get dominant hand position early in the down

but really strong at the point of attack in the running game and controls the OL well

1. Need to see what the cap hits for Campbell and Brockers look like. Unfortunately, they're almost guaranteed to be pretty backloaded at this point.
Theoretically, including all the transactions we've done, we should have ~$19-20M to fit in Brockers and Campbell this year. My guess is Brockers would come in around $7-8M in year one, meaning Campbell's cap hit is probably in the $11-12M range.

2. I do agree there has to be another roster move coming. In my eyes, its either going to be declining Carr's option, which would save you about $6M, OR, they pretty much already know they're going to trade Judon.

Cutting Carr alone probably only creates enough space to sign your draft picks and MAYBE add a cheap veteran or two, like Jihad Ward and McPhee types.

So either we're basically done with FA after day one, or they're going to trade Judon and target some other players. If the Judon trade is coming, I'd expect it to happen within a matter of days.

One thing's clear.... they want to get better in the front 7, and they're willing to spend for it. Appears they'll target Oline, WR, and hopefully linebacker/Corner, in the draft.

3. Unfortunately, I think this greatly reduces the chances of extending Stanley this year, or at least not until much later in the offseason. While he's carrying an almost $13M cap hit this year already, it would be hard to see a scenario where you sign him long term for less than $18M per year, and therefore, his cap hit pretty much can't possibly go down on an extension.
can't overload too much from this year to next year due to the cap. I don't know the percentage increase from this year to next year they are allowing, but the league had put some rules in place. Now maybe that has been changed since the CBA was approved. That I'm unsure about.
