Signings, Cuts, Trades

On a related note, I love the way they've done the restructures so far. They've yet to touch a big contract and it seems they're doing everything in their power to keep it that way. Koch extension, Fort restructure, Ricard restructure all minor moves that add up this year, and don't add anything drastic for next year.

minor moves for players who will remain fairly inexpensive and are likely to not be cut for performance reasons

like you i've noticed that they're avoiding touching the thomas, peters, williams deals

I'd think Peters is the only other one they'd be okay with touching. Roster bonus is $3M, so it would save $2M and only add $1M in 2021 and 2022. Nothing major there either.

For Williams and Thomas? I think that'd be an absolute last resort. Don't want to make those contracts harder to get out of.

The way we're building our defense seems like we dont want to get run over by the Henry train again. I'm also fine with resigning Judon but would at least keep the hit on the cap at 15 mil in his 1st year if he avgs like 16-17 mil a year. I can see him building on his sack totals and he's been healthy.

I think it's great because chances are low that all of those guys suck and need to be cut whereas chances are higher one player could quickly fall off a cliff.

Remember how there wasn't a single person on this forum who last year thought we should give $$ to ZDS?
Good point, but there’s no way to tell if Judon will have an amazing year after he gets paid like ZDS

the longer this all goes on the more and more i just want us to get judon's deal done
The change in Judon's tone of his tweets over the past couple of days tells me we're really close to getting it done. In fact the terms may have been agreed to with just details being hashed out. That's my gut and tp that add also @Sami84's prescient prediction.

I've always wondered how trades get started sometimes. Like, who started talks for Wormley? Did the Steelers reach out once they saw our other moves? Did the Ravens start calling teams asking if they wanted him? Just curious how stuff gets started sometimes.

I wouldn't say we have extreme depth on the D line.
Brockers,Mack,Williams, Ellis, Campbell,..Ward. I wonder if the shipping off of Wormley might indicate a 1st or 2nd round interior pick. Guys like Davidson, Jordan Ellis, Madubuike, and gallimore will likely be around late one through late two.

We really havent learned. First B-Will and Now Judon.

I give up. Look, this is going to be a huge contract and it will negate any potential cap space we'd have and we'll be back to signing 30 year old + players

Royce Freeman please and thank you...and for the know it alls on here about to disagree just be quiet. History shows yall be wrong 90% of the time lol....Seth Roberts lol btw the pick ups are good we working the cap. Freeman future RB1. Broncos dumb....remember they wanted Flacco.

are also likely to be great value if they get to 55
dont forget blacklock too in that group of 5

You don't want him to stay? I sure as hell do
I'm usually against delaying your decisions, but with Judon I want to see one more year. FA kinda played out how I expected it would. There was no chance we'd find an adequate replacement for him. Stanley's and most likely Humphrey's contract are up, we cannot afford to enter into another bad contract with Judon like we did with BWill. Now, if the cap increases enough in one year and Judon plays well, then extend all three. Or we could sign somebody in FA.

Just met Leonard Weaver. I put the word in for us. He will be making a return to the NFL and join our team.

Don't say I never do anything for the team.
