You’re against Julio coming here in fear of stunting the growth of our young WRs? If anything, I think it’d be extremely beneficial for them because they get to learn from a HoF WR. Plus, you have to double team Julio, which creates even more opportunities for our younger guys.
No, I'm against bringing Julio here for several reasons:
1. He's too expensive, which everybody knows by now.
2. I don't know how long he'll be here. And I don't know if he'll be off the training table as much as Watkins will, either.
3. If he's here, either Brown, Andrews, or Bateman becomes frankly pretty useless in this offense. There's no scenario possible where the Ravens throw the ball enough to feed 4 mouths. I'm struggling to see paths to feeding 3.
4. I don't think teams have to double team Julio. He's not 25 year old Julio anymore.
5. I'd rather see us take whatever remaining financial resources we have left to add a pass rusher or two, and possibly another swing tackle.
I don't really have any concerns with being able to "keep up" with Buffalo or Cleveland to be honest. I don't see many paths where Cleveland has this high powered, explosive offense this year (much in the same way they didn't last year), and it would have taken a whopping 18 points to knock Buffalo out of the playoffs last year, of which they didn't look overly impressive in any of their playoff games, and I don't see a reason why their offense will be significantly better this year.
KC is always a concern, but adding Julio doesn't make us a favorite over them by any stretch of the imagination either, unless you're planning to put him on defense, which was the problem last year.
