The Random Thought Thread

Well fda approval means fuckall to me considering we’ve been putting toxic fda approved shit in our bodies for decades.

to me it’s about just not being comfortable for the simple fact that it’s been in humans for about a year now and that’s not long term to me. I see no benefit to getting it other than lessening the symptoms, but me being a young and healthy individual in the best shape of my life and having been through it before and knowing that I will be fine, kinda outweighs any risk in getting the vaccine, and what I perceive as risk others perceive as flat out stupidity but that’s called perspective and many are unable to accept that. Ranitidine was sold for decades as daily OTC heartburn medicine and suddenly its revealed that it contains carcinogens and is immediately removed from shelves. Thalidomide was commonly used to treat nausea in pregnant women and then thousands of kids were born without entire limbs as a result, so yeah I see something this brand new and consider it extremely risky and the fda doesn’t exactly calm my nerves.

consider me the control group, it’s not a political thing for me, I’m just not comfortable taking this vaccine and multiple doses this early on, and anyone that has a problem with it, well I don’t give a shit lol.

and fuck I promised I wouldn’t dive into this topic so I’m gonna shut myself up again and won’t be further responding.

but I don’t get what it is about this vaccine that has you so uncomfortable - it’s not new technology and I’m assuming you’ve had vaccines as a kid...

like I guess what is your fear about this specific thing

You are responding with rationale to a theory that is irrational. Every person that is vaccine hesitant has been vaccinated before he could even say his ABC. The fact that he can say DEF today means the effects are minimal, insignificant or non-existent. However, one must understand that this is the rationale being thrown around by people who get their news from sites that are spreading willful misinformation for political and ideological gains.

If you remember, just a little while ago, one of the reasons for not taking the vaccine was it wasn't fully approved by the FDA and rushed? While the ones that got the disease were completely fine with taking medicines to mitigate the disease (also partially approved by the FDA), they were totally against the vaccine itself. Totally illogical and hypocritical to me. Now, very recently the Pfizer vaccine has been fully approved by the FDA and all you hear are crickets surrounding that excuse. The excuses will keep evolving and end up taking more unvaccinated children to the hospital and clog up our healthcare system, all for illogical, nefarious, or for faux and ill-understood freedoms and liberties.

Well you’ll be pleased to hear that Lamar got vaccinated today!

Given that the mRNA strand is broken down within a few days of delivery and everything else about the vaccine mechanism is identical to traditional vaccines, I'm really not sure what long term effects people are waiting for. You could be allergic, that's the big one, but that's a very short term thing.

The technology has been under research since 1989 and the "rush" was just this vaccine jumping the red tape queue because of the pandemic. I fully support people's right to choose what they put in their bodies, but there's no specific reason not to get it other than a general unease.

And this stance is fine. But ultimately, your decision to get vaccinated or not may not have a material impact on your life or, in this instance, your job.
For an NFL player, its a HUGE impact. His life is significantly more difficult if he doesn't get vaccinated, and his employer has made it that way. That's starting to happen around the Country in other industries as well. A lot of people will be forced between vaccination or employment, because employers won't trust their customers or employees to not sue the company if they get COVID and end up in a hospital. It's all a liability concern.

Ultimately, for me, I would say I'd be "on the fence" if I were a younger, seemingly healthier person. The problem I see is there's a lot of people who merely think they're healthy that aren't actually healthy. They have health conditions or issues they're completely unaware of. Most people with cancer will have cancerous cells in their body for years before it gets diagnosed or identified.

At the end of the day, I agree, its a personal decision. As long as people are willing to accept responsibility for their decisions, and be accountable for any and all hardships, challenges, or consequences associated with either decision, then so be it. I'm just tired of listening to people play the "my choice" card and then seem flabbergasted when their life gets harder because of their own choices. I'll never understand the logic behind that.

Well you’ll be pleased to hear that Lamar got vaccinated today!
I'm wondering if he's getting two shots, or just one, and what the protocols say about that. "Science" would suggest that somebody who's now seemingly gotten COVID twice would likely not need two vaccine doses to have the level of protection they suggest.

If it's a single dose, "full vaccination" is considered two weeks after dosing, so he would be fully vaccinated between the week 2 game against KC.

Also pretty smart timing on his part. They're scheduled to be off until Tuesday I believe, so any side effects he might have from the jab should be gone by then.

Yep! I heard the report that the NFLChick sent out the tweet last night suggesting Lamar got the vaccine? Did you hear this from somewhere else too? I am so thrilled if it is proven to be true my man! It is extremely healthy for team chemistry and safety. I'm hoping if Lamar is vaccinated, the rest will likely fall in line or face the vaccinated players' ire in the locker room.

You'll get called an idiot anti-vaxxer and biological terrorist on Reddit for this kind of talk.

yeah... I thought there was a decent waiting period before you could get the vaccine if you just had it.

LESS THAN A WEEK AWAY FROM REAL FOOTBALL!

I have listed reports on here from reputable medical sources that say no, you don’t have to wait after having it/after it ends. Too lazy to pull those back up again but Google helps

Everything I read said you can get jabbed as soon as the quarantine period is over. He's well past that.

Fuck that cesspool. And Twitter.

Just a completely drunk guy putting out random thoughts 2021 out there… Andrews is built up by Lamar… Andrews is not what he is without him. Lamar for all his faults is an elite in the numbers passer and opens up lanes in the middle for Andrews with his (Lamar’s) running ability… I don’t think Andrews is but 70% of what he is on another team. His targets would definitely go down if Lamar ever got an elite WR and he started passing better to his outside.

Andrews would likely not be his full self with any other qb, because he and Lamar are on some telepathic shit, but andrews was on some telepathic shit with baker too.

one would think that Andrews is just an elite route runner who is smarter than most of the guys trying to cover him. He is one of the sneakiest TEs when it comes to uncovering.
