The Random Thought Thread

Also because Harbaugh proved he can say literally anything and we can't really trust it....
He might as well say he is in critical condition, but it isn't serious. It's very frustrating as fans, not knowing what is going on. I get he doesn't want to give too much information to other teams.

I think well be fine without B.Will for the SHORT term. Carl Davis can play and we still have depth behind that.
Id like to have him back for Pittbsurg though
I thought Dean Pees muddied the water a little more for me regarding Williams. He made it seem as though he may actually play this week. I don't know if it was meant as a curve ball for the Jags, but he sure twisted my shit!

So I just heard on the news that some fans have put a petition together to have Ray's statue removed from the front of the bank. They are ridiculous, all because he knelt with some players during the anthem. He stated he did it to pray along side of the players kneeling, which may be BS or not. Either way this shit is becoming a nightmare.
The players made their point and I hope they just move on from it now and the future. Hell, the stadium authority has now requested that a cop be placed there to ensure no one damages the statue. Fucking sad that this crap is dividing fans and the team.

i just dont understand the lengths some "fans" are going to at this point

im sorry but this is becoming ridiculous now - as much as fans at this club had their stance on kap and the national anthem and they were entitled to that opinion as much as i disagreed with it - their position is now untenable

the players on sunday were retaliating to an unprovoked ad hominem attack on their character and their right to freedom of speech by the supposedly highest authority in the country - they are well within their rights to react

criticise kap all you want but if you dislike the players' stance on sunday in london then you just dont support the idea of free speech which is inherently unamerican which is apparently what the players are being accused of - do people not get the irony of the situation while they are losing their shit?

I saw this petition a few times. Never signed it. I mean I get it. I was pretty disappointed myself, but I am over it already.
That statue isn't going anywhere. Not over this at least.
Beat pitts-burgh by ten or more and 80% of those fans will forget the kneeling thing.

Probably.

Theres no point explaining context to these people, because deep down it isnt about the flag.

It's NEVER been about the flag. Nor, has it been about "disrespecting" the military. All of that talk is nothing but a diversion from the "main" issue for why Kap first started taking a knee.

But to some it absolutely is. That is where the breakdown is.

IF those actually kneeling tells you that their kneeling ISN'T about disrespecting the flag...you know...like stomping it or burning it would be....then why not believe them?

I suppose they would ask, if it is not about the flag why is it done during the National Anthem?

aint no brain sturgeon but that's an easy one. exposure. its the one time while not doin their job that the fans are watching. its a very brief time to make a non violent statement where many will see it.

NFL says fan tv viewership was up last week. ii don't expect the protests to continue but peaceful protests are a beautiful American tradition. they say much about our country. in n. korea they'd get your teeth knocked out. not sure why n. korea isn't a bigger topic than this. it should be.

saw a photo of basketball great bill Russell, 83 yrs old, taking a knee with his presidential medal of freedom around his neck. not sure which prez gave him that medal, but there he was.
