The Random Thought Thread

Rodgers is one of the most overrated qbs of all in my opinion. regular season hes good when he beats up the shit lions and bears every year but honestly I truly think Big Ben was a better career qb. as much as I hate that rapist. he is one of the most clutch players of all time
To state the obvious and reiterate what others have mentioned, how a QB performs when the pressure is on, in the most important situations is what ultimately defines their tournament success.

Guys like Ben, and I hate to say it. Brady thrive under pressure. They keep their cool, make the correct decisions and execute. It's not all about talent and athleticism like is often the case in regular season play, you generally have to have the clutch gene to be fully successful in the tournament.

Numbers never tell what really goes on.. if anyone watches kirk play, they know he really fks up at times. Very possible to have good numbers and still fk up just like you can have bad numbers and still win the game.. brady just did it the other week vs rams. Shit lamar always does it. My eyes>stats
I mean there's some people's eyes I'd trust over stats. Yours would certainly not be one of them. Eyes are fools gold for most fans, because most fans don't know what they're looking at anyway.

That clutch gene is real, but the thing about guys like Brady and Ben they were clutch all the time. When the big lights went on it was just another game where they want to kick your ass, but with a little extra juice. That clutch gene + that competitive gene is a winning combo.

And im 100% sure you dnt know what youre looking at.its exactly why you turned to numbers to defend your case

Beats turning to Twitter or listening to schmucks on the internet to make their case.

I'm 100% confident of two things:
1. You've rarely watched a Kirk Cousins primetime game (like most people)
2. There aren't many people anywhere I'd less trust the "eye test" from than you. When guy who has literally no background in football (playing, coaching, analyzing, etc.) says "I trust my eyes", sprint the other way as fast as possible.

GRo usually good with 2 TEs.

Imma say its more Harbs.

No special teams, no play!

He be like that

it was 100% not that - Likely was never going to be asked to play special teams the way that others are
the issue for likely was that he just didnt play well with more opportunities early - looked like rookie nerves or maybe just a bit overmatched and thinking too much (albeit at a position that's notoriously difficult to dominate at as a rookie) - he still looks a bit unsteady but certainly more settled than at the start of the year - needs to make sure he makes the easy ones though and start stacking - at the moment it's flashes and inconsistency

that's why he didnt play earlier in the year

Dont need a background in those things to understand football at a high level lol. Im not trying to call plays on the field, im not creating plays neither.. im simply observing what i see.. you dnt need any high background to able to observe at an high level. Shit i got you all figured out and i have no background in psychology, detective work nor interrogating.. you gotta come from up under that rock bro and experience things..

eh, not sure that was the case. I think if you watched each and every game they played they screwed up just like everyone, just not as often.

When I mention "clutch gene" it has zero to do with the "big lights", and everything to do with "win or go home" scenarios A lot of guys crack under that pressure, and some thrive in it.

High level isn't good enough. High level is why your eyes fail you so often.
But hey, if you think your eyes are good, then Deebo gotta be Deebo. Ain't nobody else putting trust in that for sure.

nobody has to put trust in it, i do lol.. keep trusting stats and numbers without using your eyes to see for yourself, you will continue to fail everytime

Of course they screwed up. Didnt say they were perfect. Lol. But more times then not they didn't screw up when it counted the most, whether it was a win or go home playoff game or regular season game.

Based on how I've seen you evaluate players, coaches, etc., I sure as shit hope I would come to a different conclusion. I'd be severely disappointed if I didn't...
You dnt really try to evaluate players or coaches because you dnt know what youre looking at so you dnt wanna be wrong and thats cool…: but i see thats why you turn to numbers and stats cause thats the only way you can defend what you say or whenever you feel like being argumentative..

But half the time I don't turn to numbers. I only turn to numbers when people put out completely arbitrary, subjective discussions like "Cousins isn't good in primetime", when its clear they've not done any research on it and just regurgitated what they heard somebody else say.

Numbers are a piece of the puzzle. Not the whole puzzle. Your the opposite of the problem. You actually think you know what you're looking at (why that is I have no idea) and dismiss important info that you don't know because you falsely trust "your eyes" to tell you something.

That's a quick, fast way to be fooled often. The very last argument anybody is going to believe is "I know what my eyes saw". That's basically throwing in the towel and saying "I can't be bothered to do any research on the subject at all".

I'll simplify it for you. Your eyes = "they trash".

‘‘Twas a joke. You’re no fun.

Right. But there’s been plenty of guys that perform well in the regular season when it counted most, when the pressure is on, but fold under the post season pressure. It’s definitely a different game and some just don’t have what it takes.
