Yeah I think Madabuike walks. It would be unfortunate but I don’t think we have room for a $20M cap hit for one year not to mention an extension overall is going to be massive. I think we’re going to get a very high comp pick for him.

I mean... it may not be up to us. If you don't want to tag him, you'll likely have to pay over market value. And if I'm JM, I'm 100% making sure I know what market value is before I sign.

So either you overpay, you tag him, or you let him hit the market and start matching offers.

I do kind of enjoy being on this side of the coin though. Like I can imagine the diarrhea that would have occurred on these boards if the Ravens had signed JM for $18M/year in August. People would have lost their minds.

I would never guarantee anything of course, but this is a dude they've been trying to find and develop for years... Willie Henry, Timmy Jernigan, Bronson Kaufusi, Chris Wormley. It'll cost a lot but I just can't see them letting him walk.

Do it. Madubuike is looking like a cornerstone player and you gotta keep those guys, it’s the borderline guys where you’re not sure if they’re worth the bag or not, madubuike there’s no question, just like andrews there was no question.

It will never again be Ngata-Suggs-Ray-Ed but Madubuike-?-Roquan-Hamilton looks promising. Oweh is improving, there might be some hope for him.

Agree with the premise, but the two aren't really comparable due to the financial commitment. Like its easy to say "give Justin Tucker the bag", because great kickers make like $5M a year.

Andrews cost $14M/year with $30M gtd. Depending on how you comp Madubuike, I would guess he'll cost around $23M a year with at least $50-60M in gtd $. That's a sizeable price difference.

guarantee they weren't offering him that in August. They definitely tried to sign him in the offseason and that's been pretty well documented.
