Checked out? That’s a pretty damning notion, I doubt it’s true.
Have you never been checked out at work?

Lamar has spent years going away and improving every off-season, carrying the team and his coaches on his back much of the time for a Head Coach who gets panicked and jittery when a big game is approaching and almost always gets out-coached anyway.

They haven't given him a functional O Line, the defense was garbage for half the season and Lamar got injured early.

It wouldn't be out of the question for a player to decide he was just going to do his job without going above and beyond and wait for a positive change to come.

Lots I disagree with here, but I’m not going down that rabbit hole.

I will say though I seriously doubt Lamar is checked out because a), it’s a team sport and it would mean he doesn’t care about his team mates who are laying their asses on line every week and b) it would demonstrate a total lack of self respect.

Lamar doesn’t seem like someone who would check out. If anything he could be frustrated and that could be messing with him mentally, but I doubt he is checked out.

I think Qtr probably meant it more like “Lamar is out there trying to win and is putting in the work but he’s frustrated and in his own mind and it’s affecting his play”

A franchise qb “checking out” while tied for first in the division is unacceptable.

That said I wouldn’t say Lamar is checked out. Like others have said, he’s frustrated.

I’m sure he’s frustrated with the coaching staff and FO, I’m sure he’s frustrated that he’s injured and can’t play the way he’s used to? And frustrated that his OL sucks, run game isn’t working, and every position is killing us with turnovers.

I think Lamar has a real problem dealing with adversity and big moments. So often he plays completely out of character and spirals when things aren’t going well.

From The Ravens Reddit.... Madubikie has slimmed down a ton. I said he looks like he's about to play Theo Huxtable in a remake of the Cosby Show.

Adversity I agree on but not so much in big moments, I mean he literally drove the team down to tie the game against Buffalo in freezing weather and snow in the divisional last year

That whole second half. Just wish the other guys on offense came to play

A person said they’re boyfriend cheated on them and said boyfriend was somehow connected to the Ravens.

Said that:
1. Players (including Lamar) want Harbs fired
2. Beeks has been retired for a while
3. Lamar has been hurt all year

And something else I don’t recall

Players get surgeries in secret during the offseason too

The whole game was a big moment and he showed up with 2 turnovers.

If anything you would say the big moment got to him, and he turned it on after the adversity.

In reality it’s just both, he’s had his moments to the contrary but overall he seems to unravel with adversity and he plays out of character in big playoff games.

Might be wrong but he doesn't look that much different to me. He's not a "bulky" guy from what I've seen
That was my initial thought. Madubuike has never been that big, round Michael Pierce-type; he's "slim" for someone his weight.

If he's lost weight, it's not a ton. Those arms are still MASSIVE.

But, we have to remember people think he retired, so they're considering that in how they view the picture. If Madubuike had confirmed he's playing next season, people would applaud how he's staying jacked and looks happy and ready to get back to work.

Dude has always been a sculpted 300+. I'd guess he's down a bit but not "Marshal Yanda I'm never coming back" down.
