The Random Thought Thread

Ya know, I’ve actually been thinking really highly of him since hearing him speak and getting a grasp of his mentality, he seems like a dog and I’m putting faith in our defensive coaches to use him right and develop him.

I wouldn’t be shocked if he turned out a better player than Bateman and I think REALLY highly of Bateman
There you go! If I have you in 'the second son's' camp, all is well.

Miles sanders saying he was starstruck meeting joe flacco and said he gave him headaches and made him cry a few times, being a Steelers fan lol
Which I saw an article the other day "ranking" the worst contracts in the NFC East, and Flacco was on that list. And I'm like dude's making like $3.5M this year. I don't really think anybody in the league making $3.5M is a "bad contract".

that's ridiculous. Shouldn't be difficult to find a bad contract, especially in the NFCLeast

He does have a chance to make 7.5m, but seriously there are worse

and tell me how Golladay isn't on this list

There was an interview with Luke Kuechly on the Move The Sticks podcast recently and he had a lot of praise for the Ravens scheme. Talked about how hard the pre-snap motion is to diagnose, and singled out Boyle and Ricard in particular as key pieces that make it unpredictable. Nice to hear those guys getting some shine.

He also said Lamar is the best in the NFL at running the run option offense. Obviously.

Obviously we can’t steal from ourselves... and some would pick Falcons because of Jones which I believe has been discussed ad nauseum. What team would you pick other than those two, and who would you pick? My pick is either Mack or Donald.... thinking we have Donald lite in Madubuike, and we don’t have anyone the caliber of Mack

I know we don't need him but CMC in this offense would be fun to watch!

But in reality you take Donald and you never look back.

CMC with Lamar, ohhh baby would that be explosive. Myself I go with Mack just because we don’t have an edge nearly as good as him (yet).

Mack's a great player and definitely more of a match for our needs in positional terms. But Donald is just a next-level special talent. If you have Aaron Donald crashing through the middle with Wink's blitz scheme following behind him then I'm not sure if even matters who's playing on the edge any more. I might even be able to get a sack with that setup. XD

chiefs and pats the only ones that really make me any real pause and not have a clear-cut guy i'd want - aj brown's tempting as is the idea of CMC but i thought of other guys instead

Rams: Aaron Donald
Chiefs is a bit trickier for me: Chris Jones/Tyrann Matthieu/Travis Kelce
Falcons: Kyle Pitts (legit dont care that he's a rookie lol)
Titans: Kevin Byard
Eagles: Lane Johnson
Bengals: Jessie Bates
Pats: Shaq Mason/Stephon Gilmore
Panthers: Brian Burns
Bears: Khalil Mack

Donald without question IMO. I would kill to see a 3 down linemen lineup of Campbell at 5tech, madubuike at nose, and Donald at 3 tech.

Madubuike is at nose but with less rigid space eating assignments, on money pass rush downs swap Campbell for maybe Oweh if he’s legit and kick him out one gap. We wouldn’t need edge rushers lol, that interior rush would be ridiculous

Love the list. If you could boil the list down to 1, who would it be?

Donald's the easy answer

but if i exclude him then it becomes trickier - stylistically khalil mack would be a great fit to fill that old suggs role but i think the NFL is changing in terms of how it values edge rush and brian burns looks like he might be a future superstar in the making

might surprise people but i think i take tyrann mathieu - i think he'd be a game-changer on the back-end of this defence with the versatility to make all our looks and all our personnel packages more multiple and also he just brings amazing play-level and communication in that slot/nickel type role

Just wish we did it more with that passing game

You keep dissing 'the second son' man! Once my kid gets going, all bets are off. Mack? Try Oweh!
