The Random Thought Thread

Ravens beat Steelers. National headlines 100% about the Steelers falling apart, not a word about the ravens playing excellent ball.

of major groups ive seen 2 that have consistently thought the ravens were a great football team - GMFB and the ATN podcast
coincidentally these are 2 of the more enjoyable shows with nfl content that exist and have been for a few years

Yeah gmfb has a full blown love affair with the ravens. Nate, schrager, and the other guy all have loved the ravens for years, Kay Adams doesn’t seem to hype them nearly as much. And yeah i thought gmfb was GARBAGE it’s first year but they’ve gotten a lot better since they started focusing more on football than social media lol

Plus Kay is really hot so that’s why I watch...oops

a lot of buzz about the ravens being the "most complete" team in the nfl all over the media this week so far

So Ravens fell to 2nd in total defense which considering the upcoming teams might not improve before the bye.

In the back of my mind, Maxx Williams and Hurst are the guys that offer the most fire power for this offense. I still believe in Maxx and think that injuries slowed his start with us.

As for the running game, I am not sure what to think of Collins and Buck. Is Dixon really the RB of the future? How long have we been waiting for him to get right?

What happened to that WR turned TE that got suspended? I forget his name

Waller? I think he's on the PS.

i think we will be drafting a running back this upcoming draft. Collins cant hold on to the ball and dixon cant stay healthy

We typically do draft a rb, but the last couple of years we haven’t. We were attempting to draft one in the 3rd or 4th and supposedly he was taken before our pick.

No way on day 1. Maybe day 2 or more likely day 3.

i dont know that there's anyone id want in round 1 but ive no problem with going and getting an rb in the 2nd round if they look like a playmaker for you

the only thing is that if you're taking an rb that high i think you have to expect them to be a good pass catcher already because otherwise what's the point...

First pick I'd assume is OL, wr, S or DL.

Agree on what you said about rb @rossihunter2.

But we might be picking late. I don't watch enough college ball to determine this but could someone stock rise to where they look early 2nd late first?

That’s fine, we aren’t the #1 defense and numbers saying so are wrong, I think we’re #2 and no stats can change my mind, even though the stats currently support that lol.

I hate R1 RB but if you are going to take a RB rounds 1 or 2 you better be REALLY set on 4/5 of the OLine at least preferably all 5 because that is the best way to upgrade the running game.

Now without any names in my head, if the Ravens grab a C/G Round 1 then MAYBE you could argue a R2 RB but really you probably still would rather double dip to secure Yandas replacement as well.

If we make a deep run then Damien Harris will absolutely be on our short list in the late 20s, there’s no way he isn’t, he’s the closest you can get to the zeke/gurley/fournette early first RBs without spending an early first. He may end up playing himself into the early first though and this point could be moot.

I’m almost certain that was Mark Walton who I pegged as a likely target for us for a while

I kinda like that Jax is 1, where they should be at the moment, but I think a few other teams in the top 10 are getting by on weak opponents.

Other weird note is how insane passing is this year. Flacco is on pace for 5k yards and yet that is only 8th in the NFL. Now granted he would be top 3 this year if they hadn't eased off the gas in that Buffalo game but the passing numbers this year are insane.
