Dom McRaven
Hall of Famer
To this day, I still say "fuck Kubiak" for the way he left us, but yes, I agree with your first point given how the NFL is an offense-oriented league. If we can't score for shit, we won't win many games.Really what the team needs an offensive mind that it hasn't had since Kubiak. The problem with Harbaugh is that he doesn't provide that nor a stabilizing presence on defense. But after Lamar was drafted institutional stability became a selling point to the fanbase. It all comes down to what Bisciotti thinks and he is a human. Honestly, I could see him thinking a fresh start is a good idea just like I could see him justifying staying with Harbaugh because of their long history together/historical success. There are a lot of coaching concerns worth having, such as the flatness that the team comes out with pretty regularly and more than a few questionable decisions. But there are also a lot of issues aside from the coaching. Injuries are always difficult to deal with and a lot of recent high draft picks have made a minimal impact. Im not trying to make excuses for Harbaugh because I obviously think he needs to do a better job, but the lack of success is not 100% on him.
As for their long history together, the NFL is also a "What have you done for me lately?" type of league. Lately, we can't make the playoffs since we like to shoot ourselves in the foot.
