Didn’t Jimmy have like a verbal abuse case or something this year? Maybe Ozzie can let it slide sometimes....plssssss pick up Hunt please please he said he was sorry lol...that would be incredible for Lamar to have Hunt next year. Ugh I know it won’t happen but I really want it to...it’s basically a free pro bowler for God’s sake
You are right it won’t happen but taking him on is not free but comes with a cost. Our organization got stung badly on this front and to pick him up would be a PR shit storm.

Would it be nice to have an RB with his skills? Oh yeah. But we can’t go there. Another team will eventually (and should as I don’t think the kind of unspoken lifetime ban will apply here) and will get grief but given our history it would be handled differently ... whether that’s fair or not it’s the reality of the situation.

kareem hunt is a scrub ?? really ? mixon broke the girls jaw if im not mistaken. idc how much talent you have. if thats the case why hasnt ray gotten a second chance ?
I don’t think hunt deserves to lose his career over this.

However he deserves punishment and there’s no question there.

I’m shocked actually that the chiefs released him, I thought he’d be suspended 6 weeks and all would move on
I am NOT in the camp of people who are saying this wasn’t that bad but I agree he should not lose his career over this but a penalty that will sting is definitely in order. 6 games minimum. But zero tolerance in the form of no 2nd chances is no something I agree with.

Those who seem to claim it wasn’t a big deal and should get no more than a week or two I just don’t understand how that kind of violent reaction in the face of a woman is remotely understandable. As a society I feel like violent reaction to anything verbal has become a norm and not an act of last resort in matters of self defense. Behavior he exhibited imo is just frankly puzzling to me. To tolerate or excuse it is beyond my comprehension.

Agreed. The initial shove when she came at him is understandable, the rest absolutely is not. And yes he shoved a person into her, but she was right behind the dude, he did that on purpose, and the bottom line for me was the kick, not that it was some horrible violent kick, but she was done, on the ground tryna get her bearings, and he crossed the hall to come kick her over long after the situation seemed to cool down. That shows shit character and a lack of self control.

As some of you may know I love personally finding really weird or neat stats and I think this one is pretty damn cool, it took me over half an hour to find out

The last time Justin Tucker missed a fg under 50 yards (excluding those blocked) was December 22nd of 2013 against the patriots. He made 155 straight during that time. I only excluded one kick, a 45 yarder against the 49ers in 2015 where the field actually caved in under him like a pot hole.

Of carouse he only missed one (infamous) xp during this same stretch
I'm a sucker for weird stats too, but damn. That game against the Patriots was the quintessential "Anything that could go wrong, will go wrong" type of game.

Absolutely. That last kick really sealed the deal and is likely why the penalty will be harsh. I again scratch my head when people claim that wasn’t a big deal cause he didn’t seem to kick her very hard. What? So he’s to be congratulated for not bootstomping her?

Some saying the shove that really clobbered her was on the dude in front and he didn’t mean to hurt her. Well guess what ... he did. So if that was accidental wouldn’t the natural reaction be some level of concern, remorse or at least an “oh shit I’ve just gone way out of bounds”? Nah instead let me go over there and give her a kick. In what world is that not deserving of significant punishment?

Damn, kiss of death. Hope he doesn’t miss one this week! lol

yeah i said something similar to this in the around the nfl thread...

why are people defending him just because of very specific elements that are outcome based - why should he be "rewarded" with lesser punishment just because he was restrained and therefore didnt get a proper blow in - he fully intended to beat her up and then literally went after her so hard that he knocked her down through another human

I’ll take Kareem in a heartbeat. I hate how we’ve stayed away from young, talented players because of the Ray Rice incident. Yea it’s gonna be a PR nightmare for a while but he’s a young Pro Bowl RB in his prime and he’d compliment Lamar perfectly.

i personally would be rethinking my support of this team if they signed hunt

Really I’ve always felt that way about attempted murder charge. I mean you tried to kill someone but you are rewarded for fucking it up.
