The Random Thought Thread

Another case where a 40 time had a WR drop...I just dont understand how hard it is to see game tape. He embarrassed the same DB's that went in the 1st-3rd rounds.

Also tough as nails with no injury history.
totally agree and I watched a ton of his tape.

Speaking of the Redskins seems like they struck gold with my reach of a pick in the 6th round! Unbelievable...#KelvinHarmon

Dude is a flat out beast and a recent article where he talks about enjoying trucking db's is exactly why I wanted him. Deceivingly fast and will plow a LB on running plays. Not sure which hurts more JuJu or Harmon. Looks like we got a ST ace in Scott tho lol. I do enjoy watching Boykin but I'm afraid that we cant execute the type of plays that Hollywood needs. That's why I wasnt all in on him in the 1st. He'll make a big play here and there but i dont see him taking over a game like a 1st WR should. Boykin can tho...so could Scott.
I think we are gonna have to use and should use hollywood in a lot of motion plays like how NE does edelman.

Can we talk about David Culley?

I’ve never seen the Ravens develop receivers the way they have this year. Jaleel Scott is unrecognizable. Miles Boykin is on a steady trajectory and Hollywood is progressing as well. Wouldn’t surprise me to see Modster and Wesley at the same place in their progression as Scott this time last year, and they’re both more polished now than he was then.

Very encouraged by the receivers.

I know that myself and others were calling for Engram to be ousted as our WRs coach for the past several years so I'm honestly not surprised that now the WRs are looking better with a viable coach. Culley seems like an awesome dude too just from hearing a few of his interviews.

Random.....if you look around the lg and i mean every single team... most of them come with the same game when its playoff time, except who? Bill mf beliechick. He makes simple executions and adjustments look very complex. chargers really tried to use 6 dbs vs BB like how they did vs us lol. Then deeper in offs, he started using the motion edleman play more often which was killing on every single third down conversion.

Its like you mainly only see them losing to inconsistent teams in playoffs for some reason?
Why? Probably cause there is no way to scheme around inconsistency? And everything maybe unexpected?........ idk, i might just be tripping out

The patriots never lose to a scheme, they lose to talent at key positions. When we were giving them the shits every time we played them it was because our pass catchers and RBs were making plays and just beating the man across from them, boldin was going apeshit every time we played them, Pitta too, and to an extent Torrey. They didn’t have an answer for the likes of Terrell Suggs, haloti ngata, and pernell McPhee, they were beating the OL and crushing Brady and had him seeing ghosts, jimmy was shutting down his man, etc.

The only way to beat the patriots is to line up and play ball better than them. I don’t think it’s about inconsistency, it’s about matching up. And if you matchup well against the patriots you can match up poorly against 20 other teams and look inconsistent for that reason

Hate to beat a dead horse here but everybody with two eyes and a undamaged brain was calling for a Boyle and Ricard package. Never got it...no change in coaches expression nothing. Reminds me of that meme where the person is surrounded by fire and is like everything is ok. Lol

I could see it now...after using a heavier run package. Harbs: wow that worked pretty good 1st down run on 1st down...that'll show'em now let's revert back to 5 vs 5 WR sets because well just because.

The problem with that is we dont possess a QB with laser accuracy. That's not knocking Lamar at all I mean theres less than a handful of teams that do. Where else in the league do little guys flourish?? NE and NO.

I keep seeing Hollywood compared to T.Hill but guys have u seen Hill?? That guy has a neck like a LB.

The speed is there and I hope that I'm eating my words come game day. I'd be so happy to see Hollywood smoke def on a consistent basis, something I haven't seen a Ravens WR do...ever.

Joe Flacco’s play also had a lot to do with the success against the pats. He was never intimidated in Foxboro.

Let's see how he comes in next year.

how ironic is it that he was intimidated in Cinci

He just had no sense of urgency as a player, we called him Joe Cool but he was far too casual when games were on the line and on the rare occasion it helped because he was never rattled. The best QBs turn it up a notch when the pressure is on, Flacco just cruises along at the same altitude.

We literally had the smartest players all on one time.. suggs, lewis, reed.. thats crazy

Dam didnt even think of it like this

Intimidated? lol, not hardly. Playing in Cinci had zero to do with the struggles against a division opponent, Marvin often had their number. Joe and Co. had problems with them in Bmore as well. “Ironically” though the Ravens still had a winning record against the Bengals during Joe’s tenure.

I'm totally aware of that. Just saying we had a harder time vs. Cinci at their home then the Pats in their home. That is not all on Joe, I get it.

Not sure you do, but OK, NP. I mean they had some problems with Pburgh and sometimes Cleveland as well. Division games are generally tough, although none of it had anything to do with anyone being intimidated.
