I wonder if Jax would take Jimmy in a trade
 
I think Ravens fans have to look at the big picture when it comes to Jalen. Jimmy and Carr should be out the door soon and Jalen is probably the best CB in the game right now. No one in this or next year’s draft will come close to Jalen’s output as a pro and we’re projected to be in the top 10 in terms of cap space next season. You HAVE to take advantage of a QB on a rookie contract and now is the best time to do it with Jalen. We were also enamored with him in the draft so I see no reason why Eric wouldn’t call and try to move some pieces around before Friday

that would eat up almost all of the Jaguars available cap space. They would take over his salary, which is about 9m. They have a little over 10m remaining. It's not happening, besides they aren't going to take an injured player.

Wouldn't they also be rid of Jalen's game salary so while not cancelling it out mitigates some of it?

Frankly I think Jimmy has no trade value for this season, but I don't think its because of money, its because the Jags aren't good enough to benefit from a rental

I still think it is crazy that a few on here don't want to give up one 1st round pick for RAMSEY...

They're wanting 2 1st rdrs I believe. Hell if they only want a 1st rd pick I'd do that in a second. I'm banking we aint picking before #21.

My trade would be a 1st and 2nd for Ramsey and a mid rd draft pick. The big thing tho is we have like 9 mil in cap and he's gonna cost 7.5 mil of that according to OTC.

I would give up what seems to be a late 1st round pick for him, but we need to jettison the money from Jimmy Smith. I think that's up at the end of the year, so it's a wash. No team is going to take an oft injured CB with a good salary to cover - their loss - and a late first rounder for a guy like Ramsey.

Our best deal is taking Ramsey, giving up a 1st rounder and a mid comp. If it's more pricey than that - NE wouldn't pay that! - we should be out. There's weeks until the trade deadline. There isn't much urgency now. But this makes it the time to do a deal because as urgency increases, so does the price tag.

Eh I’m conflicted on that. He’s a great player and all and I am a huge fan of his but I don’t think the team would do it. I also am not sure about spending one first round pick let alone two. That’s because we need some OL guys here just as much as CB and also certainly need another pass rusher to threaten the edge. Yes we will hopefully pick late but great players can be found there as well.
 
...if teams are offering some of the packages for Ramsey that have been suggested here... two first rounders... first and second round... first, second and comps... that's CRAZY. They (Jags) are in the "feeling-out" stage, despite Ramsey's desire to be out of there. In the end, I think they'll get a first rounder and maybe a late round and maybe a conditional. Two picks is what I'm figuring. 1 and 4... who knows. We won't be screwing up our plan for the upcoming year's draft or 2022's to get anyone.

Last year when the Raiders traded Khalil Mack to the Bears, no one was saying whether or not it was worth two first round picks to get Khalil Mack and that is because whoever you pick will likely not be as good as Mack. First round picks exist to TRY and get people like Mack. I dont even like talking in memes but the meme is the most accurate thing to say here: "Khalil Mack is Khalil Mack but a first round pick could be anything... it could even be Khalil Mack." Jalen Ramsey is that kind of player at an even more important position. You have a chance to get elite talent you take it because elite talent at the right positions is how you win in the NFL and if you have a secondary no one can throw on, and a run defense that no one can run on then how do you lose?
