So bet my bankroll on the Nationals winning it all?

Said the same when I saw that.
Scherzer is healthy and has been pitching aggressively in practice. If Strasburg pitches well, then the Nats have a chance, but they are pressing too much at the plate. I'm hoping the day off helped them relax a bit.

Moght as well see what the young kid has. They traded up for him so he was wanted by the new coaching staff. Either way, we'll be welcoming a rookie QB to the AFC North next year, just a matter of who Cincy likes.
well we have plenty of practice against a mobile QB :-) so I'm not worried

Very interesting article from Ken McKusick - Bye Week Roster Evaluation

https://filmstudybaltimore.com/blog/bye-week-roster-evaluationdefense-2019

He mentioned only being able to sign one of Judon, Pierce or Peters in the offseason. I thought that was interesting, considering the cap space we have in the offseason. No one really knows how much the cap is gong to go up in 2021 under the new CBA either. I'm sure we won't overpay for Judon, but I would like to sign him for a reasonable deal, but nothing like ZDS. I feel we will let Pierce walk and sign Peters, especially how much we value secondary and are letting Jimmy Smith walk.

He expects them to have big contract extensions for Stanley and Humphrey over the next two seasons.

depending on how peters finishes down the stretch i can certainly see us paying him (although i wonder what value we'll pay him to)

judon is losing time with the ravens with every game he doesnt take over - he's playing more snaps than last year but creating pressure stats at almost the same rate he did last year (going slightly better per game) - the hope for him has got to be that he's got 4 sacks in the bank already and he normally has a period down the stretch where he becomes flat out dominant for a 3-4 game stretch to finally try and get himself above 8 sacks for a year

pierce just plays a position that isnt valuable relative to the money he'd want/hope/expect to be paid

ZDS has 8 sacks already this year but the year that got him his contract (2018 with the ravens) he only had 8.5 total albeit with a hell of a lot of pressure to go with those sacks - but judon has a real shot of out-performing ZDS statistically from last year and if he does you've got to think (especially with the success of ZDS) that Judon's going to get paid a similar amount or more than ZDS and I dont think we want to pay that here

Particularly (Judon) with the rush talent in this coming class

I agree, there is no way we are going to pay Judon that amount of money here and I also believe we will let Pierce walk. I'm hoping we can sign Peters along with one of the top free agent pass rushers, whether that be Ngakoue, Clowney or Barrett.

i feel like we're finally going to grab a pass rusher in round 1 for the first time since sizzle in 2003

legitimately the last time we spent a first round pick on a pass rusher (either interior or edge - unless you cant haloti in which case 2006)

And I wouldn't be surprised if we move up to grab our guy

well I do believe the Ravens wanted to draft Clelin Ferrell in this past draft. That being said, there is no guarantee about that either.

really - where'd you see that - he was nowhere near available at our pick and probably wouldnt have been BPA at that pick either

the big move i heard we wanted was to try and move up from the 3rd into the top of 2 to get cody ford

obviously I don't have a source and don't remember where I saw it. Nothing seems to leak out of Ravens park and imo that is a good thing, as frustrating as it is at times. It was a huge surprise that he went that high and I was expecting him to go somewhere in the early 20's or drop to us.

He was not my choice though and I'm glad he went early.
