practice squad can be shrunk back down and maybe they go back to the old limit on players with accrued seasons but the PS call-ups and the unlimited IR-DTR need to stick around I think
the NFL should like the idea that more better quality players are able to come back and play and teams dont have to end guy's seasons over a 5 week injury
it might be that they up the minimum period on I/R so that it's somewhere closer to the 8 weeks it used to be and not at the 3 weeks it's at currently
It's definitely interesting. I know the original CBA prior to the COVID changes wanted 14 PS players in a couple of years, so maybe they shrink down to that immediately. Maybe they allow like 2 veterans instead, and maybe elevations are limited to 1 or something like that before being forced to make a 53 man move.
As far as the IR, I agree. Keep it unlimited but maybe up the minimum time they have to be on the list.
I definitely see aspects of both sticking around. Not as lenient as this year so they can add some of the competitive and tough decisions back, but definitely not as stringent as they were previously. So many more guys have gotten jobs out of this. Can't see anyway the NFLPA doesn't continue to push.
