The Random Thought Thread

It's the inequity that gets me when it comes to all of this. Lamar missed a couple of the games and the backup plays decently, and suddenly we have to start thinking about whether it's smarter to move on from him according to them. But they'd never say the same thing about Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Kyler Murray, hell even Baker Mayfield. I know Lamar isn't the traditional QB that's gonna throw for 4000 yards every season but it just amazes me how much more he gets scrutinized than everyone else. I guess I'll just never understand this need for vindication from their evaluations instead of just enjoying him for what he is.

What’s even more ridiculous is that before his slump Lamar was on pace for 4K and 1k anyway...

it’s like Bucky brooks suggesting we were about to let Lamar graduate to replace him with fields

That's foolishness. Lamar has never fit the "powers that be" narrative of what a QB is. To them, it is only being a "pocket-passer" but the game and the QB position are evolving. I'm glad that it is.

Disagree , the strong armed pocket passer still rules the day and always will. Lamar is just the best athlete on the field at any given time. Combine that with arm strength and he is just a really rare and special talent. No one in college will replicate his style or success any time soon

After KC finishes demolishing Pittsburgh we will be the 7th seed…..

The way things are playing out we may only need to win one of the last two.

We're back on the outside looking in if Miami wins tomorrow night though.

Ian Book led Saints...

and the dolphins have been more like the team i expected them to be before the season the last few weeks (or basically since they wiped the floor with us) and not the weirdly ineffective outfit they were to begin the year

no way ian book doesnt get destroyed by that defence

Dolphins are starting to play well. Raiders are still iffy but they can play well on occasion. Chargers are still alive. We have an edge on the Chargers but the other 2 teams have beat us so we're in a tough spot.

Just playing around with the playoff machine, if we win out and the Dolphins lose 1 of their last 3, we're in. If we drop one of our next 2 though, we're going to need a lot of help. Looks like we'd essentially need the Raiders to drop their next 2 or the Chargers to drop one. Lots of other scenarios since everyone is so coupled but gonna need some big help if we can't pull it off ourselves.

Crazy to think that if Cleveland wins and Cincy loses to KC, and we lose to the Rams that Week 18 for the AFC North will be Bengals vs Browns and the likely SNF Game. Going to be curious which two games they flex to Saturday in Week 18, every playoff seed is still up for grabs at this point. NFC has 5 teams clinched in while only the Chiefs are locked in on the AFC side.
