The Random Thought Thread

Especially when we were playing the short game even in the passing game. There was rarely an attempt to even get the ball more than 10 yards downfield. If all you're going to call in the passing game is 4-5 yard hitches, you might as well just let the RBs that were averaging significantly more than that for carry try to get it. But I don't know, that isn't apparent to some somehow...
Well we also did try that. See red zone trip #1. Resulted in zero points.

I mean OK, but if the objective is to score points, none of it worked. So its a moot argument to me.

I'd rather see Huntley try to drive down the field with urgency, since I've seen him to do that somewhat successfully in prior games in his career.
I don’t think it’s moot at all. It’s about giving yourself the better chance. No one watching Huntley in this game or really any game this year would assume he has the chops to do that. He’s been dreadful. And it’s unfortunate because maybe you could trust him at points last year. But he’s regressed mechanically and mentally this year and it’s on the team for not seeing that.

Mf really dying on this Roman hill huh? Willing to bet the injuries (especially to Lamar) will be enough of an excuse not to fire him in the off-season either
I think it's even funnier how when Greg Roman talked about why we take so long to get to the line, Greg talked about how it wastes time off the clock and how valuable that is. Now Harbaugh says don't run because it takes time off the clock.

They have no fucking clue of what they’re doing or what they want. Then you have dumbasses like rmc who defend literally everything and anything they do

This might be the first time I’ve ever seen the majority of Ravens fans (across social media) just flat out done with Harbaugh lol. Usually you see some devil’s advocates but man, they’re really hard to find nowadays. Sucks because I do like Harbs but this situation has gotten so ridiculous

Rams fans are probably saying samething about Sean McVay right now and he just won a super bowl . It's quite typical for fans to get in their emotions and say stuff like fire this coach or that coach when things aren't going the wat they expect. Look lat Wink he was so loved at one point until the 2021 season happned. and that was just one season.

Ehh, I'm not buying the latter. For starters, people don't buy merch for coaches. They buy it for players. You want merch sales... draft people like Lamar. They sell merch.

Ticket sales really can't increase unless they increase price, and that's not really easy to do necessarily. Ravens are already selling through practically all of their home game tickets most years, so its not like they can boost volume without adding more seats.
Team money goes to owners. Most of it anyway. The better a team is doing the more money an owner gets. Also home playoff games and a super bowl gets a huge boost of revenue with their ticket sales.

Yes, but in this case it's not just 1 season. It's issues that stems from his tenure with his previous teams. Fans are irrational probably 99% of the time but in this case when there is a concensus not ony with fans that Gro has to go, then it's justified at this point.

Honestly, if Horribaugh had fired Roman today, what would have changed?
When the season ends do you expect him to hire an adequate OC and not a *** or Trestman type of OC?
I believe we will only see something new if he retires.

There's no such thing as a coordinator that is loved 100 percent of the time. Gary Kubiak whom Ravens fans still to this day seem to love only was loved so much cause he lasted one year with The Ravens. I'm sure if he had been around for as long as Greg Roman then Ravens fans would have been tired of him too. With all of the dislike for Greg Roman whom basically runs a offense that isn't as wide receive friendly as John Harbagh previous coordinators it's porbably true that he is the best coordinator he has ever hired if not the most creative. I admit that there may be time for Roman and The Ravens to move on but the offensive system that The Ravens have now isn't bad or even terrible.

Cam Cameron, Gary Kubiak, Jim Caldwell, Marty M,, and currently Greg Roman are all coordinators Harbaugh has either had some form of Playoffs or super bowl success with. None of them were perfect except Gary Kubiak for obvious reasons even though Jim Caldwell may be the star of the bunch.

Surely you did not just call Roman the best OC we’ve had….

None of them were perfect? None of them were good except for Gary Kubiak. Harbaugh's OC hires have been a litany of shite, and if he ever fires Roman, his next OC will be shite too.

Not trying to be offensive but did you just say our offense is not bad or even terrible?
Yeah, it's not bad, it's putrid!

I understand that but Ravens fans were asking for Greg Roman to be fired even before 2022 season in which The Ravens passing attack was ranked 13th overall in 2021. His inability to call a good passing scheme was why Ravens fans wanted him gone even though the numbers just didn't add up especially last year. I'n not at all saying Roman is prefect but I think fans main problem with Roman offense is that it isn't flash enough. Every other offense looks like a pair Jordan's or Nike's while to Ravens fans Greg Roman offense looks like a pair of new balance or Fila's

I admit Roman it may be time to move on from Roman after this season but I also can understand why John Harbaugh hasn't fired or let Roman go yet. I think he has every reason to give Roman a chance to fix things

I said the offensive system is not terrible . It's obvious the offense right now isn't nothing special but I don't think the offensive system as a whole is bad. May just need different set of eyes and ideas but right now Roman has to figure out some form of balance in to this passing game .

OK, but anybody watching the same game could tell you running the ball wasn't getting us down the field and in a position to win either. And running takes more time off the clock than throwing, which isn't ideal when you're playing from behind and need possessions.
Lol, you did not watch the game, did you?

He's worried about clock?? It's week 15 and his team is getting penalised for delay of game AFTER THE FUCKING TIMEOUT.

He's either protecting his OC or he's an idiot. More games we see, more it seems the latter
