Well he signed for it last time and he'll probably get slightly more now. Issue isn't the AAV it's the cap hits. They'll need to bring his down. He'll gladly sign an extension to get more gtd money anyway.

You know Biscotti should do something really dirty and give Lamar a league minimum salary, but offer to pay for "living costs" which can equal up to 40 mil a year. Guaranteed, but under the radar.

yes I agree. I believe that would be the biggest mistake this franchise makes, but I also believe he is going to let Roman go in the offseason.

I believe Steve would be the one to make the call as EDC and John Harbaugh have an equal relationship.

@Thezone27 Klint Kubiac is actually the passing game coordinator for the Broncos and is most likely going to be an Offensive Coordinator soon. I'd consider him also and believe he may deserve a pass for this season. I'd ask what Rosburg had to say about him though.

i think there's as many, if not more decent-to-good and even elite QBs right now as there ever has been... think what we're seeing is a couple of things:

1) jockeying for position for a good QB draft at the top after the awful QB draft of 2022
2) higher level backup QBs than there have been for as long as i can remember (if your high-profile starter is shitting the bed)
3) the hangover from losing some of the older guard that held down the position for years (Brees, Rivers, Big Ben etc.)

but also have there actually been that many benchings of starters?
all i can think of are Raiders, Jets, Colts, Commanders, Panthers, Falcons... outside of the raiders, none of the guys they replaced were benched were really starters to begin with and most of them are looking to the future to find their potential franchise QB (by trying out their young QB if they have one, and also potentially trying to lose games)
 
As a long time Roman hater, I enjoyed hearing Harbaugh criticize the disappearance of Gus on Sunday, but on another level, it's worrying.

For a coach whose message is all about teamwork, togetherness and family, that's the third time Harbaugh has put the blame on other people lately. He (rightly) criticized Roman's call on the Proche pass and he blamed the players collectively after the Browns game.

That's in contrast to the players, who have showed a lot more maturity than their 60 yo coach. Senior players like Tucker and Marlon have blamed themselves and neither Flacco or Lamar ever blamed anyone else for a defeat, despite speaking to the media every week.

What is a rah rah coach like Harbaugh for, if he can't even show the same maturity as his players and practice the leadership he preaches?

Well he's also in a "can't win" spot with the public, so its kind of meaningless. If he puts all the blame on him (which obviously, its not), then fans will actually take that at face value and think he's the whole problem, because, well, that's what fans do.
And if he blames others for their actual mistakes, then he gets criticism like this, which is "he's throwing everybody under the bus and he's not a leader".

I think he largely does a good job of blaming "coaches", not a coach. He rarely singles out individual people by name.

That's also the case with players, whose jobs could be on the line.

Players have an easier out, they can criticize the collective "we/us" to avoid blaming individuals, but the Head Coach can do the same thing with coaches, especially when it is his actual responsibility to be on top of coaching decisions.

Harbaugh didn't name names but he made it abundantly clear who he's blaming. We don't see defensive leaders like Marlon or Chuck all but pointing out exactly who fucked up the coverage, even when it's blindingly obvious.

A coach like Harbaugh should practice what he preaches and focus more on the good of the collective rather than on saving his own skin.
