No knee jerk here. I never expected us to win and I'm not upset that we didn't. All I wanted from this season was for coaching changes to be made, to enable us to genuinely compete next season.
GMs usually live or die by their QB decisions and, whatever happens, EDC has badly messed things up with the star QB he inherited.
"Should have beat" does not equal "beat". The last 10 years of Ravens football have been all about being just good enough to have a plausible excuse why we didn't succeed, but never good enough to actually succeed. The organization is stale and complacent across the board.
I'm not denying that DeCosta has built a competitive roster, aided by a great final draft class from Ozzie. I think DeCosta has done well enough to keep his job but he hasn't done enough to be as completely comfortable as he seems. He should be entering the off season aware that he needs to make changes to the way he builds the offense roster and he should be given a chance to show he can do it differently, for a new OC.
