The Random Thought Thread

Always fascinated by the cycle of coaching in the NFL, but 7-10 new coaches is a very high number.

As of today, we know Panthers and Raiders will be on that list, as they've made mid-season HC changes already. My best guesses on the rest:

Certain to be fired:
Ron Rivera - Commanders
Brandon Staley - Chargers

Likely to be fired:
Matt Eberflus - Bears

Should be fired:
Bill Belichick - Patriots (likely a "retirement" or trade)
Dennis Allen - Saints (if they don't make the playoffs)
Todd Bowles - Bucs (maybe gets one more year, but he's done nothing)
Art Smith - Falcons (if they don't make the playoffs)

Wildcards:
Sean McDermott - Bills (if they don't make the playoffs)
Robert Saleh - Jets
Mike McCarthy - Cowboys (if they don't win a playoff game)

I struggle to get to 10 vacancies, but 7 is very realistic. I think 5 is the floor.
I could see a world where at least three HC's in the NFC South get fired. One already has, I can see Bowles getting fired, and I don't see how Art Smith or Dennis Allen keeps their job if they don't at least win the division.

Looking at the upcoming brutal schedule, I’m hoping the Ravens can close it out and go 3-2. Steelers and Rams are winnable, Jags, Dolphins, and 49ers look all like tough outings.

Brutal but also a good test getting us battle hardened for the playoffs. 3-2 feels right with us losing one home game(Dolphins) and one on the road(Jags).

I have this gut feeling that we will go 4-1 and end up 14-3 to close out the season. We'll lose one late enough that it'll scare us into shape for the playoffs and keep us sharp through the SB and beyond.

I like that confidence, let’s do that

The Eagles are overrated. I hope we play them.
They arent overrated imo. They have crazy talent which is why they win close games. Seems like even if the coaching fails, the players still pull through. I do think they should be winning by larger margins but that could possibly be coaching.. shit the coaches might be a product of the players lol

For my Florida fans, is it better to stay in Tampa or St. Petersburg? Looking at attending a WWE show that is happening at the Rays Stadium at the end of January. I would like to avoid a rental car, so I'm prepared to use Lyft/Uber to get around but figure it might be easier to stay within walking distance of the stadium and maybe Lyft/Uber to the Tampa area for a day trip. Also best hotels?

The Rays play at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. Have not stayed at Tru by Hilton but hear it's close to the stadium so you wouldn't need a car. Check it out.
