Evaluate the Preseason

Actually when you undo it, it doesn't count. now if the person deleted the post, the rating would still count.

I have bad eyes. The icons are hard to see especially when I relax and read the new posts b4 bed after finished all my work. My eyes are hurting by then

Look, it's no big deal. To me, if someone disagrees than that is their prerogative. That is their choice. It's just a way of communicating on the boards without typing out a message. I actually like having more options on this board than just the thumbs up thumbs down option from br.com

And I didn't mean u. I was referring to any fan that convinced himself we were better off with that loser correa
Oh I know you weren't referring to me. I didn't take it that way.

That being said, I think last years draft was very good, even with the mishap in round 2. Let's hope he gets up to speed sometime this season. I have my doubts, but I'm hoping.

I always believed Correa didn't have what it takes to play in the NFL. Never liked him. As for Chris Moore I was skeptical but talked myself into believing he could be really good. I was initially really pissed we took him over Robinson and Mitchell but talked myself into liking him. Cuz I would like for us to find our own WR. Not these retreads who have already played their best football but everybody hopes one more great year is in the tank. But an actual young WR that plays his best football with ravens.

It is how I like the idea of taking a closer look at drama players like Westbrook To find out if he is really at fault and capable of being that young stud WR that eludes the ravens. If Westbrook really did hit his gf. Then of course I wouldn't want him and he would be total scum. But if it's a crazy girl that hit him then said he hit her. I wouldn't want to miss out on such a talent. If he did hurt his gf that is more douchebag than Mixon. But Ravens do need to finally find a young NO.1 WR/TE.

In all honestly l, we have the weapons to be a good team. Our defense should be a top 10 unit so its all gonna come down to flacco.

Dude he was accused and charges were dropped. The girl went on to take responsibility for the incident. You can't ostracize every player accused of something. If he goes on to have multiple pro bowl seasons while remaining straight it is a player we missed on while the offense stinks up the grid. End of story. Robinson like Tim Williams failed a couple drug tests then became mature. As matter of fact he is called one of the hardest working and committed players on the chiefs. And he is lighting it up as well while that bum we drafted stinks up stadiums with the offense. Moore should be cut and take his scrub buddy Correa with him to canada. Chris Moore and Correa do not belong in the NFL. Correa I never liked Chris Moore I talked myself into liking after being pissed we took him over Robinson and Mitchell.
Again, no reason to argue with the Robinson/Moore thing, if smoking pot is all Robinson did then yes I could take him.
And as I said, Westbrook could be a 1500yds WR I still don't want this guy near my team, period. Call it loser if you want, I'm not supporting a guy like that. Dropped charge or whatever, we all know it's worth nothing.

I don't see why anyone should think correa doesn't have what it takes, as an edge rusher I understand, but in college he showed great all around traits, just didn't show pro style edge rushing. His burst/speed, pursuit and hustle, form tackling, aggression, coverage ability, all of it looked stellar in college. I still think he's thinking too much and it's hurting his ability to actually play.

We all remember how good ellerbe looked in year 4, and do we remember how horrible he looked in every year prior? We wanted jameel McClain to start over him for 3 years and in year 4 we were devastated when he left. Things turn quickly once it clicks for a player. I've given up on him being who I thought he was for this season, but I won't label him a bust until I see him by seasons end or next preseason. I don't label guys until year 3

I'll answer y I never liked Correa. But first I wanna know y nobody likes Humph at SS.lol I mean seriously even if he becomes a NO.1 cornerback. Everybody realize what kinda player 6'1 215lb SS could be, that covers like a NO.1 cornerback in zone and man. He would be a prototype chess piece for a defense. As good as Weddle and seahawk SS is. Could you leave them man up on AJ Green and OBJ?? Hell no. He could be the next Sean Taylor/Ronnie Lott. Then if we have 3 good cornerbacks to go with him. And 2 LBs that can cover with range. That is total air superiority. A no fly zone

It sounds like Marlon Humphrey (I didn't watch the Bills or Saints game) is looking every bit the part of a first round pick and given how Brandon Carr played in the two games I saw, I can't imagine Humphrey stays down for long.

I was reading an article today on the website that said when Humphrey forced his fumble on Thursday, he told the OLB how to position and where to rush because Humphrey knew the play that was about to happen and then executed based entirely on what he saw pre snap. That's monumentally impressive for any corner to align the front seven so that he can make a big play against the run, but to be a 21 year old rookie who has only played in three (really two) preseason games? Now that's just nuts.

I think the Ravens got something special here.
I hadn't heard that. That's exciting to hear.

How long have you been following football? Safeties are easier to find than corners. When you have a potentially good corner, you keep him at corner. Humphrey would absolutely be a freak safety, but considering we have nobody really behind him at CB, it'd be fucking moronic to move him to safety. I'd also like to see him progress at CB, because he has all the physical traits to be a #1 CB. A shut down kind of guy. Imagine Jimmy Smith with ball skills. That's the kind of potential we're talking about here. FOH with moving him to SS. Maybe year 3 if he still hasn't put it together.

The obvious counter-argument here would be Devin McCourtey who was a good corner his rookie year but was still moved to safety anyway. But even then I think Humphrey has a higher ceiling at CB than most people give him credit for. I don't think he could be a perennial all pro anything, but it would not surprise me to see him turn into a better CB than Jimmy Smith in a few seasons. Likewise, despite high interception totals I'm pretty sure McCourtey wasn't as good at CB as initially advertised from his rookie campaign. Moving him to safety made sense, especially with the acquisition of Talib that season.

With McCourtey, I'd argue that his ceiling in the Pats system was higher as a safety than as a CB. Pats like strict press corners to bump and run, with safeties doing a lot of zone and shit. McCourtey was more valuable as a safety to them.

With our system, it's clear we prefer to press when we can, and Humphrey, I think, is far better at press than at zone. Humph and McCourtey are different players.

It's an argument I'd agree with. I generally don't distrust any of Hoodie's defensive ideas.

Seriously, if Humphrey can fix the deep ball issue we've got ourselves another #1 corner in this scheme. It's a big if, but I fully expect him to be the starter come day one. Helps that we have Weddle in the back there to cover for him.

Of course not now move him to Safety. Not til we get good cornerbacks. True safetys are easier to find. But not a Safety that can cover like a No.1 cornerback and everything a SS can do at an all pro level. It's a rare skill for an all pro SS to hold up in coverage on pro bowl WRs like a NO.1 cornerback. It's a very rare skill set. We're talking Ronnie Lott here. A 6'1 215lb NO.1 Cornerback moving to SS and doing everything else a pro bowl SS can do. While playing alongside 2 very good cornerbacks and a free Safety. He would be a player you couldn't account for lol

You're not wrong, Sledge. You're not wrong.

But when he's up at the line of scrimmage a lot as a press corner he'll be able to impact in similar ways to a SS anyway - why take a number 1 cb and put him at SS and then make him cover wrs anyway - what's the point in moving him in the first place at that point

Humphrey had some of the best zone skills I'd seen from a college corner. He fit in that Seahawks Cover 3 scheme where they press bail.

I like him in a Tampa 2 where he can jam and reroute, but still play in a way where he has a chance to go make plays on the ball.
